With a career that has spanned over four decades in showbiz, Jaime Fabregas’s career has had him on camera in various roles not just as an actor but also as an award-winning musical scorer, TV host, and reporter. Even at 75 years old, the multitalented artist who hails from Iriga in Camarines Sur admits he does not see himself retiring anytime soon.

During an exclusive interview with PUSH ABS-CBN during the premiere of his new film Isang Komedya Sa Langit, Jaime revealed the secret to his longevity in showbiz.

“I think, basically, I’ve just been lucky because I have been given a job that I thoroughly enjoy. I really have fun with this work. Kaya kapag tinatanong ako kung kailan ako mag-re-retire, sabi ko hindi ko nakikita akong mag-re-retire. Habang ako ay nakakalakad at nakakagalaw, nakaka-memorize ng linya, nakakapagsalita, I’ll go on working. I think ‘yun lang ang masasabi ko. Kung ano ang ginagawa ninyo, just like it a lot. As a matter of fact, if you could love your work, mahalin niyo ang trabaho niyo at sigurado akong tatagal din kayo sa anumang ginagawa ninyo. At magagawa niyo ng tama,” he said.

In his new Kapitana Entertainment project, Jaime plays one of the three priests from the past, along with EA Guzman and Gene Padilla. While awaiting their execution after being accused of rebellion, they are mysteriously transported to the present day Philippines where they encounter a loving grandmother and her grandson, played by Carmin Martin and Aki Blanco.
In his new Kapitana Entertainment project, Jaime plays one of the three priests from the past, along with EA Guzman and Gene Padilla. While awaiting their execution after being accused of rebellion, they are mysteriously transported to the present day Philippines where they encounter a loving grandmother and her grandson, played by Carmin Martin and Aki Blanco.

Itong panahon natin na ang bibigat ng mga nangyayari, mga pulitika natin, pulitika sa mundo and stuff, I think something like this is a respite, kumbaga. Rest muna tayo. Manuod muna tayo ng Isang Komedya Sa Langit para makapag-relax,” he explained.
