<p>Wilma Doesnt opened up about how she started her carinderia business in Cavite, named Chicks ni Otit, sharing the humble beginnings and challenges she faced.</p><p>Wilma recalled that their initial capital was around ₱300,000, but they had to borrow ₱50,000 from her husband’s uncle just to get started.</p><p>&quot;&#x27;Yung Cavite namin siguro ang puhonan namin dun nasa ₱300,000. Sa ₱300,000 na &#x27;yun, &#x27;yung ₱50,000 nangutang pa kami. Nangutang kami sa tiyuhin ng asawa ko,&quot; she recalled in an interview with Karen Davila on <em>DTI: Asenso Pilipino. </em></p><p>That ₱50,000 was crucial in purchasing basic utensils and the first batch of ingredients.&quot;&#x27;Yung ₱50,000 na &#x27;yun kailangan namin &#x27;yun para ma-open na namin siya. Pambili namin ng plato at pang-start na pagkain, dun namin siya ginamit,&quot; she relayed.</p><p>The other funds were spent on building the carinderia, including roofing and a toilet. </p><p>Wilma emphasized the importance of a proper toilet. &quot;&#x27;Pag magne-negosyo ka lalo na at pagkain, dapat talaga lagi kong sinasabi, please ayusin natin ang mga CR natin. Importante sa negosyo ng pagkain ang maayos ang CR,&quot; she said. &quot;Ang customer mo saan unang pupunta? Ganun siya eh. Hindi lang sa basta ka lang magdadagdag ng menu at hindi ka magdadagag ng gamit, so ipon muna tayo.&quot;</p><p>Wilma shared that her food business grew gradually and steadily. &quot;Nag-start talaga kami ng paunti-unti lang. Ipon ng ipon, isip ng menu, bili ng gamit, dagdag.&quot;</p><p>Wilma recently opened a second branch of her carinderia business in Tagaytay. </p>
