Ryle Santiago says there’s no shame in becoming a live seller: ‘Yun ang nakaahon sa family ko’

<p>Formerly known as the youngest member of<em> It&#x27;s Showtime</em>&#x27;s all-male group known as the Hashtags, Ryle Santiago has come a long way since his beginnings as a teenage actor and performer on ABS-CBN.</p><p>“Actually, yung career path ko brought me here. Siguro nahulma ako because of Showtime Online and Showtime. And then live selling tapos napunta ako sa<em> Face To Face</em>. So we tried it out. Okay naman siya. Hanggang sa we started doing it by ourselves on our own. Hanggang tuloy tuloy na.</p><p>&quot;I started live selling in 2022. Nung una siyempre mahihiya ka kasi you’d feel na artista ka eh tapos biglang mag-ta-transition ka to online selling tapos iba-bash ka na parang ah, wala na kasing career, ganyan, ganyan. But little do they know na yun ang nakaahon sa family ko. And even until now, that’s still my bread and butter. Showbiz is just what I like to do. Then nawala lahat ng yun when the pandemic came and ABS-CBN was shut down. So siyempre everybody had to adjust. Everybody had to <em>pihit</em>. But you know, we all find ourselves where we’re supposed to be, where we’re supposed to end up. And I guess for me it’s hosting. I love hosting dahil the hours are short, the pay is better, and it takes somebody na madaldal and kailangan you’re quick on your feet.”</p><div><br/></div><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/2018/1/27/fresh-scoops/ryle-santiago-reveals-failed-relationship-with-a-g-43941"><strong>READ: Ryle Santiago reveals failed relationship with a girl from showbiz</strong></a></div><div><br/></div><p>Fast forward to today, and Ryle has his schedule full with showbiz and his multiple online businesses.</p><p>“I now handle three companies. I’m the creative director for Sanda Philippines which is a watch brand. Tapos my family owns two companies, Anya Perfume and Naya Soap. So dalawa yun, sa amin talaga yun. Until now we still do live selling it whenever we can. Maski pagod na. Kasi you’re only young once. When I’m older, hindi na kakayanin ng katawan ko. So as long as there’s caffeine in my veins and money in the bank, go (laughs)!” he told <strong>PUSH ABS-CBN</strong>. </p><p>Ryle is the only son of former couple actress Sherilyn Reyes-Tan and media executive Reily Santiago, who is the brother of actors Randy, Rowell, and Raymart Santiago. His paternal grandfather was the late Pablo Santiago who is known to have directed several Fernando Poe Jr. movies and his grandmother Cielito Legaspi was also an actress in the ‘60s.</p>
