<p>Anna Wintour opened up about her reaction to<em> The Devil Wears Prada</em>, the 2006 movie based on Lauren Weisberger&#x27;s novel, which was itself inspired by the author&#x27;s time as assistant to the editor-in-chief at <em>Vogue</em>.</p><p>In a conversation on <em>The New Yorker Radio Hour</em> podcast, Anna revealed that she actually attended the movie&#x27;s premiere without knowing what to expect.</p><p>&quot;I went to the premiere wearing Prada, completely having no idea what the film was going to be about,&quot; she recalled. &quot;And I think that the fashion industry were very sweetly concerned for me about the film, that it was going to paint me in some kind of difficult light.&quot;</p><p>The movie, which was headlined by Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, and Emily Blunt, follows the story of &quot;Andy, a smart but sensible young graduate, [who] travels to New York. She starts working as an assistant to one of the city&#x27;s biggest high fashion magazine editors, the cynical Miranda Priestly,&quot; as per its <em>IMDb.</em></p><p>The magazine executive remarked that she actually enjoyed the film, particularly commending Meryl&#x27;s performance.  </p><p>&quot;First of all, it was Meryl Streep, which, fantastic. And then I went to see the film, and I found it highly enjoyable. It was very funny. Miuccia [Prada] and I talk about it a lot, and I say to her, &#x27;Well it was really good for you,&#x27;&quot; she said.</p><p>She went on: &quot;[It] had a lot of humor to it. It had a lot of wit. It had Meryl Streep. I mean, it was Emily Blunt, [and] they were all amazing. According to a report by vogue.com, the announcement was made during a staff meeting on June 26 (US time). </p><p>&quot;Anybody in a creative field knows how essential it is never to stop growing in one’s work,&quot; she told the team as she confirmed her decision.</p><p>Reflecting on her legacy, Anna shared, &quot;When I became the editor of Vogue, I was eager to prove to all who might listen that there was a new, exciting way to imagine an American fashion magazine.&quot;</p><p>Anna, who has served as the editor-in-chief since 1988, will now concentrate on her broader roles as Chief Content Officer of Condé Nast and Global Editorial Director for Vogue.</p><p>Vogue recently announced that Chloe Malle will serve as the new editor-in-chief of the magazine. </p>
