Alden Richards conquers biking route in Italy: ‘I almost gave up’

<p>Kapuso leading man Alden Richards shared that he biked in Passo dello Stelvio earlier this week. It is considered as the highest paved mountain pass in the Eastern Alps, a route professional cyclists are known to use for their training.</p><div><br/></div><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/entertainment/showbiz/celebrities/2025/4/23/alden-richards-enters-another-era-in-fitness-journey-1508"><strong>READ: Alden Richards enters another ‘era’ in fitness journey</strong></a></div><div><br/></div><p>“One of my most difficult rides so far. A place where pro cyclists train with the likes of Tadej Pogačar and others. No flat roads, only climbs, with gradients minimum of 4% and a maximum of 16% for 31km,” Alden wrote.</p><p>Alden biked a total of 31.62 kilometers in three hours and 17 minutes according to the Instagram Story that he shared. Despite the struggle that he faced while riding the route, the Kapuso actor took inspiration from his reason as to why he began the journey. </p><p>“I almost gave up, lungs struggling, legs collapsing, thoughts in conflict…but then I realized why I started this journey. These are moments I can call my own, my bike, my endurance, my skills, my climbs,” he shared.</p><p>“At the end of the day my only competitor is myself…no one else,” he added.</p><p>He then assured that he’ll be back for another round in the future–– much stronger and better than what he achieved earlier this week. Other netizens shared how inspired they are of the actor who’s been getting serious into his fitness era. </p><p>It was earlier this year where he showed a glimpse of his cycling era, to the surprise of his fans. In various Instagram posts he shared previously, Alden can be seen consistently training, having found his love for cycling. </p>
