<p>South Korean actress Nana, whose real name is Im Jin-ah, is now facing a countersuit filed by the very man who broke into her home last November 2025. The suspect, who was previously arrested for aggravated robbery and assault, has accused the actress of attempted murder and aggravated bodily injury as reported by <em>The Korea Herald</em>. Following this, Nana and her agency issued a statement, strongly rejecting the suspect’s claims.  </p><p>The incident traces back to the early hours of November 15, 2025, when a man in his 30s forcibly entered Nana’s residence in the suburbs of Seoul. Recalling the incident, the investigator said, “She and her mother overpowered the intruder, a man in his 30s, in a physical struggle, resulting in his arrest.” </p><p>During the encounter, both Nana and her mother sustained serious injuries, with her mother reportedly losing consciousness. The celebrity and her mother were taken to the hospital for treatment following the incident. An official from the Guri Police Station said in November, “The level of force used did not amount to excessive or serious injury to the suspect. Taking all circumstances into account, the actions fall within the scope of legitimate self-defense, and no criminal charges will be pursued.” </p><p>Despite that assessment, reports emerged on January 2, 2026 stating that the suspect had filed a separate complaint against Nana, accusing her of attempted murder. The news prompted an immediate response from her agency, Sublime, which released a strong statement rejecting the claims and condemning the suspect’s actions. </p><p>“Hello, this is SUBLIME. We are issuing our official statement regarding today’s reports about our artist Nana,” the agency said, as translated by South Korean media, Soompi. </p><p>“In connection with the robbery-assault incident involving our artist Nana, a thorough investigation by the authorities has clearly confirmed the perpetrator’s criminal acts.”  </p><p>Sublime added that during the crime, “the assailant—armed with a weapon—inflicted severe harm on Nana and her family, and the resulting physical and psychological pain continues to this day.” </p><p>The agency also criticized the suspect for filing a countersuit despite the circumstances, saying, “Nevertheless, without any sign of remorse, the perpetrator has filed a separate complaint against Nana, exploiting her public profile and causing secondary harm through inhumane conduct.” </p><p>Emphasizing their stance, Sublime said, “Protecting the rights and interests of our artists is our highest priority. In relation to this matter, we will pursue every possible civil and criminal legal action against the perpetrator. We will continue to respond responsibly and to the very end to ensure our artist suffers no further harm. As translated by South Korea’s Maeil Business Newspaper, she wrote, “I was aware that a lawsuit had been filed against me, and I came to terms with it while enduring a mentally challenging time.” </p><p>She explained that as a fan signing event approached, she made a conscious effort to steady herself, saying, “As the fan signing event approached, I tried my best to regain my composure and focus during the time I had, reflecting deeply to steady my shaken mind and spirit.” </p><p>Finding some calm in solitude, Nana reassured fans of her resolve. “I will not fall apart, and I will manage myself so I don’t waver,” she wrote, adding, “So please don’t worry too much, and I’m sorry for causing unnecessary anxiety due to this unexpected incident.” </p><p>Nana first rose to fame as a member of Orange Caramel, a sub-unit of the girl group After School, before successfully transitioning into acting. She most recently gained international attention for her role in the 2023 Netflix series <em>Mask Girl</em>. In 2014, she was also ranked No. 1 on TC Candler’s list of the 100 most beautiful faces. </p>
