<p>Having been on the receiving end of intrigue late last year when details of his personal life surfaced online, Derek Ramsay admitted that he has already had his fair share of experience when it comes to being the subject of public opinion throughout his enduring career in the industry. In an exclusive interview with <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/entertainment/showbiz/celebrities" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><strong>PUSH ABS-CBN</strong></a>, the Fil-British actor shared how he deals with anonymous bashers online. </p><div><br/></div><p>“It comes with the territory you know? My advice on this is, if you don’t know these people, why let it affect you? For me, it’s the people that you love, it’s the people you are close to, what they believe of you is what’s important. And what you believe of yourself. So all that noise is just noise. In one ear and out the other. Sticks and stones can break my bones but words will never hurt me. Is it painful? Is it hard? Yeah, I guess. The 49-year-old actor also explained why he still interacts with some of the netizens who comment on his posts. </p><div><br/></div><div><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust:100%">“Sometimes, I answer these people. Actually, if it’s constructive, even though it’s negative ha, if it’s constructed in a diplomatic and polite manner, for me, I answer,” he said.  “Take a breath and just say, they have this opinion of me and they expressed it in a polite way, consider it. But if you don’t agree with their opinion, then just move on or respectfully reply. But those people who aren’t (like that), those people aren’t happy with their lives. Those people, whatever they are going through, I just wish them well.”</span></div><div><br/></div><p>“Weigh the scale. You have that and you have this, why are you going to focus on this? I have my daughter. I have my parents. I’ve had a very fruitful career. I’m healthy. I get to travel the world. I have a roof over my head. But those who get it and who are feeling low about it, just imagine what kind of life these people have who are making an effort to say something hurtful to you. They must be going through something bigger than you. So brush it off. You’re alive, you’re breathing, and just tell yourself that that’s life. Move on. We got to live life and be happy. That’s what life is all about,” Derek shared.</p><div><br/></div><p>“Sayang lang ang oras natin dito sa earth if we are going to focus on the negative things in life. Life will be boring if you’re always at the top so that’s the great thing about life, it’s a rollercoaster. So enjoy it. When you’re down here, tell yourself, there’s only room to go up. So when you’re up there, enjoy it! Because there’s going to be a dip somewhere in the future,” he added. </p>
