Jewel Mische reveals being a Republican; supports President Trump but prays for ‘innocent people’

<p>Former actress Jewel Mische shared that she is a Republican and is supportive of the role of United States of America President Donald Trump, but maintained she doesn’t agree with all the decisions made. She recalled how the “fear was real”, knowing that any time, deportation was a possibility for her.</p><p>“During President Trump’s first term, I personally went through the ICE process. It was during the height of COVID, and at the time I was caring for a newborn and a two-year-old,” she wrote.</p><p>“While my husband and children are U.S. citizens, I was facing a very real possibility of deportation — and the devastating reality that I could be separated from my children and my husband, leaving them behind,” she recalled.</p><p>Despite the fear, Jewel maintained that she was “treated fairly” as she followed the law which eventually led to her being granted an American citizenship.</p><p>The former actress expressed how she feels for those who are experiencing the pain and is grieving with them, sharing how she wished it “were not part of the process” that they have to go through.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/entertainment/showbiz/celebrities/2025/7/21/is-jewel-mische-open-to-return-to-showbiz-1846" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><strong>READ: Is Jewel Mische open to return to showbiz?</strong></a></div><p>“Because of that experience, I don’t speak about immigration lightly. I grieve for families who are suffering right now. I grieve for innocent people who are affected. I wish deeply that pain were not part of the process,” she expressed.</p><p>Even though she has empathy towards those affected, she asserted that two things can be true at once–– she still supports the role of the President and his immigration policies. While it could be heartbreaking altogether, Jewel maintained that she doesn’t lack compassion and also doesn’t agree with “every decision” that her President makes.</p><p>“But holding compassion for those who suffer does not require me to attack the President,” she clarified.</p><p>“I can uphold the office in prayer while also grieving for those caught in the cost of enforcement. I am Republican. I support the role of the President. That does not mean I agree with every decision or approach, nor does it mean I lack compassion,” she explained.</p><p>For the former actress, she still believes in “lawful order” while caring “deeply” for those who were in her situation several years ago.</p><p>“I will continue to pray for leadership. And I will continue to pray for those who suffer,” she ended.  </p>
