<p>BLACKPINK&#x27;s Jisoo will receive the Madame Figaro Rising Star Award at the Cannes International Series Festival, also known as Canneseries. The actress-singer will be honored with the award during the festival&#x27;s opening ceremony on April 23.</p><p>According to a press release published on the festival&#x27;s website, the award shines &quot;the light on a promising personality to watch.&quot;</p><p>The Canneseries also recognized Jisoo as an artist who &quot;embodies a new generation of artists capable of crossing borders and reinventing themselves.&quot;</p><p>The festival, which will run from April 23 to 28, celebrates series from around the world and will take place along the Boulevard de la Croisette and at the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès in Cannes, France. My character, is of similar age to myself, and I think we have similar introspections about life,&quot; Jisoo remarked, reflecting on her character in the series in a recent interview with ABS-CBN News.</p><p>In <em>Boyfriend on Demand</em>, Jisoo portrays the role of Seo Mi-rae, a weary webtoon producer who signs up for a virtual-reality dating subscription service after facing romantic disappointments.</p><p>“I knew that I could relate to this character, identify with her, and I could really immerse myself into the character,” she added.</p><div><br/></div><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/entertainment/showbiz/movies-series/2026/3/10/jisoo-seo-in-guk-on-filming-in-the-philippines-and-why-they-found-dating-difficult-1243"><strong>READ: Jisoo, Seo In-Guk on filming in the Philippines and why they found dating difficult</strong></a></div><div><br/></div><p>The actress-singer also spoke about shooting in the Philippines for the show.</p><p>“I’ve actually only been to the Philippines for tours, and we didn’t have much time to take a look around. But this time around, when we went there for production, we had some time to look around and have a lot of good food as well. It was very vacation-y,&quot; she remarked.</p><p>Other series that Jisoo has starred in include<em> Newtopia </em>in 2025 and <em>Snowdrop</em> in 2021. </p>
