Miriam Quiambao and Ardy Roberto share why they chose Boracay as their second home

<p>Miss Universe 1999 1st runner-up Miriam Quiambao and her husband, inspirational speaker and author Ardy Roberto, opened up about their decision to make Boracay their second home.</p><p>In an interview with Karen Davila on her latest YouTube vlog, Ardy shared that the move was rooted in a simple prayer for their family.</p><p>&quot;I had a prayer, Lord provide us a place where the family, the children can run free. And God said, &#x27;Beach.&#x27; And then I said, &#x27;Beach? Where?&#x27; In the back of my head, Boracay is too expensive but later on something popped up: Boracay long-term rentals, 50% off. We just went in October 2021, we did some oculars, and then we chose a place, and then in three months we moved,&quot; he shared.</p><p>The family moved to Boracay in 2022.</p><p>When asked if she initially had hesitations about moving to the island when Ardy proposed the idea, Miriam replied: &quot;For me when he came and asked, &#x27;Babe, would it be crazy if we move to Boracay?&#x27; [I said], &#x27;Let&#x27;s go.&#x27; No batting of an eyelash. My dream was to really live by the beach. In Manila, there is always pressure to look good, to present yourself in a way na people will admire you. Pero dito, walang pressure na ganun because people will take you as you are.&quot;</p><p>She added: &quot;And then you can focus on the more important things in life. Family, relationships.&quot;</p><p>The couple has since moved to Cavite. Their property in Boracay is now being rented out.</p><p>When asked if they missed their old life in Boracay, Ardy responded: &quot;Yes, I do [miss it]. Especially, honestly when it&#x27;s holidays and Christmas, I prefer staying here in Boracay kasi you get to escape all the invitations and the traffic.&quot;</p>
