Jesus Manuel &quot;Bong&quot; Suntay during a Committee on Justice hearing on the impeachment complaint against Vice President Sara Duterte on Tuesday.The lawmaker, in what he said was an attempt to draw an analogy with Duterte&#x27;s remarks about imagining cutting off President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.&#x27;s head, spoke of his &quot;desires&quot; for the actress.&quot;It was inappropriate to use her good name just to drive a point that does not involve her as a private citizen or as a public personality,&quot; Viva Artists Agency said <a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://www.instagram.com/p/DVdqKVOEvGF/">in a statement</a>. &quot;Regardless of the intent, purpose, or motivation, we denounce the repulsive comments that mentioned Anne.&quot;VAA also stressed that remarks that normalize misogyny should never be tolerated in any setting, as they undermine the hard-earned progress toward women’s empowerment.&quot;Such statements have no place in any forum, normalizes misogyny and serves to undo decades of progress in the empowerment of women everywhere,&quot; it said. &quot;We urge everyone, especially our honorable public officials, to be more respectful and cognizant of their actions.&quot;The management also expressed gratitude to the public, including fans and fellow artists, who have shown support for Anne through their messages.Several members of the House of Representatives are seeking an ethics investigation following Suntay&#x27;s remarks.<div><a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/3/4/women-s-panel-chair-wants-suntay-s-lewd-remarks-sent-to-house-ethics-committee-1932">READ: Lawmakers push for ethics review over Suntay&#x27;s lewd remarks about Anne Curtis</a></div>Laguna 1st District Rep. Ann Matibag, chair of the Women and Gender Equality Committee, denounced what she described as lewd and inappropriate comments delivered during the proceedings and formally moved to have the matter referred to the Committee on Ethics and Privileges for investigation.Suntay, who has also said he was talking about an imaginary encounter with Curtis at a mall in Mandaluyong City, has apologized that people were offended by his remarks.He has also insisted there was no malice in him talking about Curtis and mentioning his desire for her.
