EXCLUSIVE: David Licauco reveals plans for his own resort in Siargao: ‘Dream big, start small’

<p>Premier leading man David Licauco has long been admired not just for his work as an actor, but also for his ventures as an entrepreneur, particularly with his food businesses.</p><p>In an exclusive interview with <strong>PUSH ABS-CBN, </strong>he revealed the next business he is looking to explore.</p><div><br/></div><div><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1777164439834NEW THUMB (99).jpg" style="width:600px" class="fr-fic fr-dib"/></div><div><br/></div><p>“Right now, nasa planning stage pa rin ako ng resort, designing. Kasi I really wanted to be super premium talaga. Ang gusto ko kasi long term-wise maraming resorts eh. Mas okay na long term ka mag-isip. Dream big, start small. I&#x27;m starting small in Siargao with that goal in mind,” David shared.</p><p>David also opened up about why he picked Siargao as the place to build his resort.</p><p>“I just love Siargao and I see na malaki talaga yung market niya. And marami pang untapped market. Kasi sa totoo lang, yung planes natin doon, puro small planes lang. So what more next time, kung na-develop na yung roads doon, yung runway, then for sure, mas maraming Pilipinong pupunta. Kasi when you go there, parang 80% foreigners eh. So imagine mo kung meron na. So sabi ko, sige, I wanna fill in that gap. So yun yung decision process ko and siyempre, at this point of my life, I want to be as stable as possible, na monthly may papasok na income,” he mentioned.</p><p>David also opened up about why he feels the need to have a backup plan beyond showbiz.</p><p>“You know, I see showbiz as a project-based business. Di ba? Hindi forever may trabaho ka. Hindi all-year round, hindi araw-araw may trabaho ka. So, siyempre, while meron pa akong kinikita sa showbiz na kino-consider ko na project-based business, then I wanna put my money naman sa real estate, sa restaurant ko pa rin, and now Airbnb. So, para diverse tayo. And, of course, hindi ka pwedeng tatalon lang sa isang bagay na hindi ka sigurado. Sa lahat ng sinasabi ko, you have to really study. And, on top of that, kailangan mo using sistema mo as a person. You know, feeling ko naman kung gusto mo talaga yung isang bagay, gagawin at gagawin mo lahat para makuha yung gusto mo. So, sa business, siyempre, gustong-gusto ko siyang gawin pati sa lahat naman na aspeto, sa family, sa friends. Kung gusto mong pumunta sa isang party, pupunta ka eh. So you really have to want something for you to be successful in it,” he shared.</p>
