Piolo Pascual on looking forward to fatherhood again: ‘I would want to have a wife first’

<p>As the cover artist for this month’s issue of <em>Esquire Philippines</em>, Piolo Pascual proved why his body is not just summer-ready, but picture-perfect all year round. The magazine’s travel issue, was shot in Dubai, had Piolo proudly showing off his tattoo while wearing clothes from Michael Cinco.</p><div><br/></div><p>During his recent press event held at the Summit Media office last April 8, the 49-year-old actor and singer shared how he kept his physique camera-ready even though he is not currently working on any TV show or film. </p><div><br/></div><p>“When they showed us the guide, the pegs for the cover shoot, there was no topless [shots]. This wasn’t part of the layout. Totoo. Because I did a campaign before this for Bench nga. After the campaign came out, my friends were asking me, ‘Why are you still working out, you know, trying to stay in shape?’ I said just because it already came out doesn’t mean you can rest already. There is none. So there. I was wearing my shirt. They said, ‘Can you take your shirt off?’ I was like, ‘Okay’ (laughs) I obliged. I mean, it’s important that you’re always ready, that you&#x27;re always prepared. So even before this shoot, I always work out every day. That’s why yesterday after the flight, I went straight to play badminton for four hours. He has a son, Inigo, with his former non-showbiz partner Donnabelle Lazaro.</p><div><br/></div><p>“Was I drunk when I said that? Ako ba yun? (laughs). Yeah, I’ve been single for some time now. But of late, I kind of feel that you want to be able to have someone you can talk to. Just to have someone. But baby-wise, I don’t think I’m ready. My son is just 28. Maybe mauna na siya (laughs). But when it happens, why not? But for me, I super enjoy my life. I’m not saying it’s fun to be single, but there are pros and cons. But options-wise, I wouldn’t want to have a kid without a partner, of course. Last week, when we went on the liveaboard (in the Maldives), I didn’t even use any products on my body. I didn’t spray any cologne. So it felt good smelling yourself. But I’m not naman unhygienic. I was just making sure I’m okay, regardless. Being vain for me, it’s more about being responsible because of my job. I have to look the part, I have to look good, I have to present myself in the best way possible. But being vain, I guess growing up, I would be more concerned. But it’s taking care of what you’re given. Making sure that you present yourself in the best way possible. But I wouldn’t consider myself vain.</p><div><br/></div><p>&quot;I’m fortunate enough to say that you know, guys don’t have to be vain, just as long as you know how to take care of yourself, how o present yourself well. Then you’re okay. You don’t have to be vain,” he shared. </p>
