Rico Blanco says marriage is ‘still a possibility’ for him with the ‘right person’

<p>Singer-songwriter Rico Blanco remains hopeful about love, sharing that while he is currently single, he has not ruled out the possibility of a new romance and marriage. </p><p>In an interview on <em>Fast Talk with Boy Abunda</em> on May 21, Rico candidly shared his views on relationships and how his perspective on love has evolved over the years. </p><p>Rico admitted that there was once a time when he believed that singlehood was the life meant for him. However, relationships eventually changed how he viewed companionship. </p><p>“There was a time where I resigned, parang I knew that being single was the best thing set up for me. But that was a long time ago, then I had a relationship after that. But I suppose [it] has to be with the right person because I’m at the age where I don’t have to get married. I understand, for some people, they have to get married, [but] right now I don’t have to get married. So if I will get married, it has to be the right person,” he stated. </p><p>He added that he does not feel pressured by his family to tie the knot. According to him, his loved ones understand the emotional investment he puts into relationships and the heartbreak that comes when they do not work out. </p><p>Rico’s last publicly known relationship was with Maris Racal, with whom he had a 25-year age gap. The two made their relationship public in 2021, with the actress-singer later confirming their separation in 2024. </p><p>Entering his leading man era, Rico is set to star his first romance-comedy movie <em>Project Baby </em>with Sue Ramirez.</p>
