Angelina Jolie on dating: 'I haven't dated since I divorced a decade ago'

<p>In an interview with Taryn Ryder of Yahoo Entertainment, Angelina Jolie reflected on what life has been like since her divorce from Brad Pitt over a decade ago.</p><p>In relation to playing Maxine Walker, her character in the new movie <em>Couture</em>, Angelina opened up about what it meant to look back on her life and rediscover the parts of herself that had been lost along the way. Specifically, she talked about what she wants for her daughters, who have now grown into young women. </p><p>&quot;My desire for them to have all of the strength and openness and softness and faith and ferocity is reminding me. I think they kind of want me now to not just be &#x27;Mom.&#x27; There&#x27;s a different room for me to be that woman again, that&#x27;s not just a mom,” she said. </p><p>On dating, Angelina candidly admitted, “I haven&#x27;t dated since I divorced a decade ago.” </p><p>“So I kind of get in my head that that aspect of me is not centered in my life if I&#x27;m focusing on my children, my family,” she added. </p><p>Playing Maxine, whose story revolves around self-discovery between career, motherhood, and romance after cancer diagnosis, is what drove her to realize that dating and children aren’t mutually exclusive.   </p><p>Angelina said, “It took me a second to kind of say, well, she can also love her daughter and be dedicated to her daughter and also need this as a woman and receive this as a woman.”</p><div> </div><div><strong>Related Article:</strong></div><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/2020/6/21/fresh-scoops/angelina-jolie-reveals-reason-behind-why-she-decid-29405" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><strong>Angelina Jolie reveals reason behind why she decided to divorce Brad Pitt<br/></strong></a></div><div><br/></div><p>Angelina and Brad publicly announced their divorce in September 2016.
