EXCLUSIVE: David Licauco assures supporters he’s okay after injury scare at Bida sa Arena: ‘It’s part of the game’

<p>David Licauco showed off his basketball skills in real court action as Team Sparkle faced Gerald Anderson’s Team Th3rd Floor during the recently concluded all-star matchup, Bida Sa Arena.</p><p>However, during the intense final quarter of the game, the leading man experienced an injury scare after an awkward landing on the court, briefly worrying both the crowd and the supporters watching the match.</p><div><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1778204012888EXCLUSIVE_ David Licauco assures supporters he’s okay after injury scare at Bida sa Arena_ ‘It’s part of the game’.png" style="width:600px" class="fr-fic fr-dib"/></div><p><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/entertainment/showbiz"><strong>PUSH ABS-CBN</strong></a> had the chance to exclusively ask him where he shared what really happened.</p><p>“Natapakan ko yung paa ni Gerald Anderson. Yun lang naman, natapilok (ako). I mean, it&#x27;s normal. It&#x27;s part of the game. Ilang beses ako natapilok sa buong buhay ko,” he said.</p><p>But David assured his supporters that he is doing well and recovering fine after the minor injury scare.</p><p>“Ngayon, I can walk. Masakit, nabigla eh pero I can walk. I’ll be fine,” he added.</p><p>Despite falling short, with Team Th3rd Floor claiming a 96–89 victory, David still shared how he enjoyed the overall game and how he kept a positive mindset: “The experience was fun… Laban lang. I think yung HYROX training is affecting my basketball game kasi parang sa HYROX, tine-train mo yung lactate, something like that. And then, sa basketball is aerobic. So, parang medyo may trade-off talaga. Kaya parang medyo hirap ako tumalon. Overall, nice experience naman,” he expressed.</p><p>Still, David gamely shared that he is very much open to joining the second edition of Bida sa Arena, which is set to happen in Cebu this coming September 2026.</p><p>“Yes, yes (I’m game to join again) but I have to work hard. Kasi hindi ako masyadong nakakapag-basketball to be honest. Tapos, I&#x27;ll be doing doubles ng HYROX and then on June 24, don ako mag-HYROX ulit. Doon ko plan to beat the record, mag-Top 3 sa World Junior. So, I&#x27;ll be preparing,” he teased.</p>
