While the first movie was about finding her identity, “Moana 2” delves into looking for connection and securing her community’s future by exploring uncharted waters.Actress Auli’i Cravalho once again lends her voice to the courageous Disney heroine. &quot;Moana absolutely started my career and I didn’t think that I could do this for a living,&quot; said Cravalho on what she considers as the best gift from &quot;Moana.&quot;The actress said in playing the character, she also learned about her Pacific roots.&quot;She (Moana) came so naturally to me that to play her meant finding myself as well,&quot; Cravalho added. &quot;I have grown right along with her. I have now traveled &#x27;far beyond the reef.&#x27;&quot;Set three years after the original film, Moana, now a loving big sister, returns as a master &quot;wayfinder&quot; embarking on a journey to unite island communities across the Pacific.But Cravalho isn’t the only star returning. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, who reprises his role as the larger-than-life demigod Maui, promises an epic reunion between the two beloved characters.&quot;They can expect great music, a great story, a great experience,&quot; said Johnson.For Cravalho, the reactions from young fans that bring the magic of Moana to life.Having recently turned 24, the actress embodies Moana’s spirit of exploration and shared that she constantly challenges herself.She was in the movie “Mean Girls” and plays Sally Bowles in Broadway’s “Cabaret.&quot;“When I feel a little fearful going into a direction, I know that I’m heading the right way because it means that I’m growing,&quot; Cravalho said.The songs in the film were composed by Emily Bear and Abigail Barlow.As part of its global campaign, Moana 2’s song “Beyond” is translated into several languages and sung by homegrown talents including Belle Mariano who sings the Filipino version.
