<p>Byeon Woo-seok and IU are set to star in a new K-Drama.</p><p>Kakao Entertainment revealed that the two stars will headline the series <em>Wife of a 21st Century Prince, </em>as reported by Naver and translated by Soompi.</p><p><em>Wife of a 21st Century Prince</em> of MBC is a romantic drama set in an alternate Korea where a constitutional monarchy reigns. The story follows Sung Hee Joo, a chaebol heiress who seemingly has it all but remains a commoner by status, and Lee Ahn, a prince who, despite his royal lineage, finds himself with nothing. Despite her beauty and privilege, her commoner status disrupts her seemingly perfect life, drawing her into an unexpected connection with Prince Lee Ahn.</p><p>Woo-seok recently starred in the hit drama<em> Lovely Runner</em> alongside Kim Hye-yoon, portraying Ryu Sun-jae, a top star blessed with looks, talent, and charm. Once a swimmer turned singer-actor, his celebrity life unravels as he struggles with depression, ultimately leading to his tragic demise.</p><p>The series further catapulted Woo-seok to international fame. He also won various awards including Outstanding Asian Star: Korea Popularity Award at Seoul International Drama Awards and People&#x27;s Choice Award at Asia Contents Awards &amp; Global OTT Awards.</p><p>He also recently performed the OST of the series, &quot;Sudden Shower,&quot; at the 2024 MAMA Awards.</p><p>Meanwhile, IU starred in the 2019 hit drama <em>Hotel del Luna</em> as Jang Man-wol, the moody owner of a mystical hotel. Cursed to atone for sins committed 1,300 years ago, she is aloof and temperamental, with a penchant for luxury—lavish outfits, fast cars, and expensive champagne.</p><p><em>Wife of a 21st Century Prince</em> is set to be released in the second half of next year.</p>
