The film is freely adapted from the 2007 Hong Kong action thriller &quot;Eye in the Sky,&quot; where Tony Leung Ka Fai originally portrayed the elusive robber — the same role he reprises in this remake.For this version, the plot revolves around a police unit struggling to capture a heist crew that has hacked the city’s surveillance system and manipulated footage to evade arrest. Realizing they can’t rely solely on technology, they turn to Wong, who prefers old-school espionage methods over digital tools. Wong is tasked to form an elite team, including a young woman, He Qiuguo (Zhang Zifeng), who has personal reasons for joining the force.The team soon discovers their target is Fu Lung-sang (Leung), a criminal mastermind who has eluded capture for years. Fu isn’t working alone — his five adoptive sons, played by rising Chinese stars Ci Sha (as twins Xi Wang and Xi Meng), Wen Junhui (as Hu Feng), Chaney Lin, and Zhou Zhengjie (as Xiao Xin and Liu Jinxiao), make up his skilled heist crew.Casting Tony Leung Ka Fai as the villain perfectly balances the film’s star power. A martial arts duel between an action legend and another veteran actor is something the Chinese blockbuster proudly showcases. This marks the third collaboration between Chan and Leung after &quot;Island of Fire&quot; (1990) and &quot;The Myth&quot; (2005), bringing nostalgia to long-time fans of Hong Kong cinema.The real highlight of the movie lies in Chan’s pursuit of the heist crew. It is revealed that He’s (Zhang) father was once Wong’s (Chan) colleague who died on a mission — an event for which Wong still feels responsible. This subplot adds emotional depth to the film, echoing Chan’s familiar “awkward father figure” persona like is seen in his &quot;The Karate Kid&quot; (2010).As the film reaches its climax, the long-awaited showdown between Chan and Leung delivers intense, grounded, and brutal combat. Their confrontation feels like a throwback to the glory days of Hong Kong action cinema: less reliant on CGI and more on raw physicality and strategy. It’s both a battle of skill and experience, and a testament to their lasting star power.And of course, if you’re a Jackie Chan fan, don’t leave your seat when the credits roll. In true Jackie Chan fashion, the post-credit blooper reel features behind-the-scenes moments that celebrate his enduring humor, discipline, and craftsmanship.
