They are joined by Vhong Navarro, Rochelle Pangilinan, Iyah Mina, and Zairene Fernandez. </p><p> The film is directed by Tim Rone Villanueva and written by Herlyn Alegre and will premiere in select theaters this October as part of Cinemalaya 2025.</p><p> Embracing her character, Kai recalled a moment where she was given the chance to revise some of her lines to make them more comfortable but chose not to. She reflected on how her short but impactful cameo in the Filipino adaptation of the Japanese series <em>Saving Grace</em> inspired her to fully commit to her craft.</p><p> “For my role kasi, ibang-ibang talaga siya sa type. Mayroon similarities pero iba talaga ‘yung role ko as Rizza. So, there was even a time na I was asked if gusto ko bang papalitan some words or lines para mas comfortable akong sabihin ‘yung words,” she recalled. ”Pero I wanna step out of my comfort zone as an artist. Kasi nag-trending yung cameo ko doon,” she explained. <strong></strong>“What if I transform into a character? Itinotodo ko talaga yung pagta-Tagalog ko, (kaya) you guys should watch the movie talaga (kasi) I, myself, I&#x27;m impressed. Not to brag,” she said.</p><p> Kai’s short cameo in the series <em>Saving Grace</em> became a viral topic online, earning mixed emotions from viewers.</p><p> During a press conference for the film, Kai opened up about her first-ever on-set experience in <em>Saving Grace, </em>which became a crucial learning moment for her.</p><p> “Sinabihan ako na ‘mama’ lang sasabihin ko. But hindi ko alam the scene was so dramatic,” she shared. “So, sabi ko, okay lang yan, ‘mama’ lang yan. Pagpunta ko na sa set, the director said — kasi everyone (was in a hurry) kasi it was sunset, so everyone was trying to get the shot while the sun was setting — it&#x27;s limited, we can&#x27;t do it for so long or tomorrow. Kaya ngayon binigyan na ako ng script and, although it&#x27;s not the final script, I review it. It is going to be informative for me to know about my character and all, kaya binasa ko na, make sure hindi ‘mama’ yung sasabihin ko. I must study my character talaga before isabak na sa role,” she said.</p><div> </div>
