EXCLUSIVE: Darren Espanto reveals how PBB: Celebrity Collab Edition’s eviction song was recorded

<p>In an exclusive interview with PUSH ABS-CBN, Darren Espanto shared how the <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/entertainment/studios/tv/pinoy-big-brother-collab"><em><strong>Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition</strong></em></a> eviction song, &quot;Paalam Muna Sandali,&quot; came to life quite unexpectedly.</p><div><iframe width="2028" height="769" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/TnGJP78aXmA" title="DARREN - &#x27;Paalam Muna Sandali&#x27; Official Music Video" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen=""></iframe></div><p>“Si Sir Jonathan Manalo called me up while I was in Paris. And he said, ‘D, kailangan na natin ma-record yung eviction song kasi this week na pala sila mag-e-evict.’ Sabi ko, ‘Hala, Sir Jon, nasa Paris pa po ako.’ (Sabi niya) ‘O, kailan yung lapag mo? Kaya ba natin i-record pagkalapag mo?’&quot; he recalled.</p><p>The Kapamilya singer-host shared that the song came together surprisingly fast, as he recorded it almost immediately after returning to the Philippines.</p><p>“I got off the plane at 11 p.m. I went to the recording studio at 12 a.m. And the rest is history. It&#x27;s out now for everyone to listen to. And it&#x27;s honestly one of the best songs, I&#x27;d say, na originals ko po na nagawa ko so far,” he shared.</p><div><iframe width="2028" height="769" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/M6IvdJjV6ZA" title="Darren Espanto - Bibitaw Na (Music Video)" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen=""></iframe></div><p>Meanwhile, Darren also discussed writing his own songs, including &quot;Bibitaw Na,&quot; which is frequently played on the noontime show <em>It’s Showtime.</em></p><p>“Nowadays you can really get inspiration from anything, from something you&#x27;ve watched. It can be a life experience. It can be an experience from friends. So that&#x27;s where I got so many ideas for the songs that I wrote,” the Pop Heartthrob shared.</p><p>He went on to clarify that the song was not inspired by his own personal experiences.</p><p>“Hindi ko naman experience yung pinagsulatan ko. Pero, sobrang akong natuwa. Kasi, of course, Sir Jonathan Manalo produced it and nakuha niya po agad yung gusto kong tunog ng kanta, yung dance break instrumental na gusto ko rin po. So, it was really such a fun process creating, not just &#x27;Bibitaw Na,&#x27; but all of the songs po with Sir Jonathan,” he expressed.</p><p>For now, fans and listeners of the Kapamilya singer can look forward to his exciting first-ever album under Star Music, as he prepares for its release.</p><p>“Malapit na namin matapos yung album ko. My first album under Star Music and it&#x27;s really exciting. There&#x27;s a lot of collaborations. There&#x27;s a lot of duets. This is probably the album that has the most compositions from me. So that&#x27;s what makes it exciting,” Darren said,</p>
