'Superman' director James Gunn confirms new 'Wonder Woman' film is in the works

<p>A new <em>Wonder Woman</em> movie is currently in development.</p><p>In an interview with<em> Entertainment Weekly,</em> <em>Superman </em>director and DC Studios head James Gunn revealed, &quot;Wonder Woman&#x27;s a separate thing.&quot;</p><p>The filmmaker noted that the project is &quot;slow moving, but it&#x27;s moving.&quot; He added, &quot;We&#x27;re working on <em>Wonder Woman. Wonder Woman&#x27;s</em> being written right now.&quot;</p><p>James also shared that the role of <em>Wonder Woman</em> has yet to be cast in the new DC Universe.</p><p>He also addressed comments made by Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav, who emphasized <em>Superman, Supergirl, Wonder Woman, </em>and <em>Batman</em> as key pillars in the superhero universe currently being developed by James and DC Studios co-head Peter Safran.</p><p>&quot;I think that&#x27;s accurate, actually. I think that he got that from something I said. I wouldn&#x27;t say only those four characters, but I would say that those four characters are incredibly important to us. Producer Peter Safran will also join them in the said tour.</p><p>&quot;This project is more than just a movie to me.
