EXCLUSIVE: Mark Neumann says he enjoyed playing the kontrabida in ‘Beyond The Call of Duty’

Actor Mark Neumann is officially back in the spotlight with the action film Beyond The Call of Duty. 

During the movie’s special preview, PUSH ABS-CBN spoke exclusively with Mark, who shared what it was like to return to acting.

“It was alright. Medyo kinakabahan ako kasi it's been a long while since I came back. It was my first movie after five to six years,” he admitted.

Mark opened up about what made him decide to make his acting comeback.

“I just had some prayers and then a week later or so, direk contacted me. So I guess that was a sign. I prayed for it and it came and I took it,” he shared.

In Beyond The Call of Duty, Mark plays Carlo Salazar, a high-ranking syndicate figure who brings chaos to the lives of Martin Del Rosario’s character, Ricky, and his team.

Mark revealed how much fun it was to take on the kontrabida character.

“It's been a long while. I think I did some kontrabida [roles] before. And some movies were shelved unfortunately. But it was fun. I was able to say what I want to say since it's rated PG-13. So I was just able to go [all] out. I didn’t restrict myself,” he said.

Aside from enjoying his role as the villain, Mark also had fun reconnecting with friends and colleagues in the industry.

“It's actually one of the most surprising things that made me really happy was actually seeing my old-timer friends, like mga kabatch ko and other people I've worked with before. It's really fun, seeing them again, seeing they're doing well, that's what made me really happy,” Mark expressed.

Aside from Mark, Beyond The Call of Duty also stars Martin Del Rosario, Paolo Gumabao, Maxine Trinidad, Devon Seron, Jeffrey Santos, and Christian Singson. 

The action-packed movie is set to hit theaters on September 3, 2025.
