Ice Seguerra pushes through with birthday concert despite his grief: 'I’ll make them proud!'

<p>After first announcing details for his major concert Being Ice Live! and celebrating his wife Liza Diño’s birthday last month, OPM artist Ice Seguerra never imagined he would have to endure a major tragedy after losing his mommy Caring unexpectedly last June 27. Despite his grief, the 41-year-old singer has been active on social media, sharing updates with his fans despite going through deep grief. </p><p>The two-day concert is scheduled to happen on September 12 and 13 at the Newport Performing Arts Theater in Pasay City. </p><p>In his Facebook post last July 3, Ice revealed how heavy a burden he feels to have already lost both of his parents, who are two of the most important people in his life and having to prepare for a concert without both of them present for the first time. He lost his father Decoroso &quot;Dick&quot; Seguerra in 2020.</p><p>He wrote, “A lot has happened. Losing Mommy recently… it still feels surreal. And even if I know she’s now with Daddy, ang bigat pa rin sa pakiramdam. Sa totoo lang, hindi ko alam kung ano ang mararamdaman ko sa unang gig at unang concert ko na wala sila. Sila ang nagturo sa’kin kung paano maging professional sa trabaho. Na kahit anong pinagdadaanan, I have to show up. For myself, for my craft, for the audience. Sabi nga nila, the show must go on.</p><p>&quot;At yun ang gagawin ko. I’ll make them proud. Mas gagalingan ko pa. I want to express my appreciation sa lahat ng mga nakiramay sa aming pamilya. Sa mga nagpunta sa burol at sa inyong lahat na nag message at nag comment. Even in death, life goes on for the rest of us. So our family is moving forward, now guided by the spirits of our Mama and Daddy. We were blessed for many years because they taught us to stand strong and be independent. Na walang ibinibigay sa atin ang buhay na hindi natin kakayanin. They taught us to be courageous. And we will make them prouder than ever.</p><p>&quot;If there’s one thing I’ve learned about life, it is that it is unpredictable. Your loved one can be gone in the blink of an eye. So always live in the present, express your love, and learn to forgive. Thank you again for letting me share my grief with all of you.”</p>
