<p>A four-minute short film entitled “Alon ng Kabayanihan” promises to power the stories surrounding the West Philippine Sea. </p><p>Carlo Aquino, Ryza Cenon and Sid Lucero will star in the short film. Aquino portrays an AFP officer and will represent the plight of Filipino soldiers; Lucero will give life to the fisherfolk affected by the tension in the controversial shoal; while Cenon will play a military officer. The actress sported her shaved hair during the project&#x27;s filming.</p><p>According to the film&#x27;s director Kevin Mayuga, they hope to spark a bigger conversation about the West Philippine Sea through “Alon.”</p><p>&quot;Mas motivate, inspire. Ayaw namin ng away. Pwede kang mag-retaliate with love,&quot; said Aquino. </p><p>Cenon added: &quot;Gusto naming maging aware ‘yung mga tao, especially mga kabataan ngayon.&quot;</p><p>&quot;When I accepted this project I had no idea what was going on, I heard it on the news but I didn&#x27;t know how bad it was pero kung makikita mo kung gaano ang binigay nilang lahat sa project na ito they are really trying to say something,&quot; said Lucero.</p><div><span class="fr-video fr-deletable fr-fvc fr-dvb fr-draggable" contenteditable="false" draggable="true"><iframe width="640" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/lr-6mYqwqjM??si=8iOkirlIEXUutAo8autoplay=1&amp;wmode=opaque&amp;rel=0" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen="" class="fr-draggable"></iframe></span><br/></div><p>The short film premiered on YouTube, just in time for the celebration of National Heroes Day.</p>
