Lee Jun-Ho stars in new Netflix series ‘Typhoon Family’

<p>South Korean singer-actor Lee Jun-Ho will be returning to the small screen soon via the new Netflix series, <em>Typhoon Family</em>, set to premiere on October 11. The drama is a coming-of-age tale about a small business CEO trying to navigate the turbulent financial crisis of 1997.</p><p> Jun-Ho plays Kang Tae Pung who lives a carefree life as the heir of the Typhoon Trading Company. His life turns into chaos as South Korea plunges into an economic crisis and his father, the head of the company, passes away. Tae Pung must step up to make sure the company, which his father loved like his own family, doesn’t go bankrupt. While he might be a newbie, he has a strong heart and drive to delve into business and support his family and employees.</p><p> One of the employees, Oh Mi Seun (played by Kim Min-Ha), has her own set of troubles aside from the danger of losing her job. As the eldest daughter in her family, her family depends on her keeping her job as a bookkeeper. While she does mundane tasks like tracking receipts and organizing ledgers, she begins to see hope in Tae Pung’s leadership and the promise of better days ahead.</p><div> </div><div><iframe width="681" height="383" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/o_sIA2a09ag" title="Typhoon Family | Official Trailer | Netflix" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen=""></iframe></div><div> </div><p>Lee Jun-Ho started out as a member of 2PM in 2008, known for their hit songs “Hands Up,” “Heartbeat,” “I’ll Be Back,” “Without U,” and “Come Back When You Hear This Song.” He made his film debut in the 2013 action thriller <em>Cold Eyes</em>. This was followed by roles in series like <em>Memory, Rain or Shine, Confession,</em> and <em>The Red Sleeve</em>.</p><p> In 2023, he played the lead role of Gu Won in the romantic comedy drama,<em> King the Land</em>, opposite Im Yoon-Ah. The hit series ranked at the top of the ratings at the time of its airing and even netted its lead stars several awards.</p><p> Directed by Lee Na-Jung (F<em>ight For My Way, Love Alarm, See You in My 19th Life</em>), Typhoon Family also stars Sung Dong-Il, Kim Ji-Young, Kim Min-Seok, Moon Jin-Sung, Kwon Han-Sol, and Lee Chang-Hoon.</p>
