Here's what Fil-Am Oscar nominee Autumn Durald Arkapaw considers the most thrilling part of her job

<p>Filipino-American cinematographer Autumn Durald Arkapaw opened up about her filmmaking journey.</p><p>Autumn recently made history as the first woman of color to be nominated for Best Cinematography at the Oscars for <em>Sinners.</em></p><p>Prior to her work in<em> Sinners</em>, Autumn worked in <em>The Last Showgirl</em> (2024), <em>Black Panther: Wakanda Forever </em>(2022), and <em>Loki </em>(2021), among others.</p><p>In an interview on CBS Mornings, the filmmaker shared what she considers the most thrilling aspect of her job. &quot;I think when the camera is rolling and I&#x27;m staring at the actor. Like Angela Bassett&#x27;s performance in W<em>akanda Forever</em>. You have these moments [when] you feel like you&#x27;re not a camera person anymore, you are actually watching a movie. And then if you get emotional it means like they&#x27;ve convinced you that they are the queen,&quot; she said.</p><p>Autumn also spoke about working with <em>Sinners</em> director Ryan Coogler and what was her reaction when the latter reached out to her to work on the film. &quot;He&#x27;s very brave, so I get very excited when he calls me about these things,&quot; she relayed.</p><p>When asked if she is brave herself when it comes to filmmaking, she replied: &quot;Oh yes. You have to be. Jordan].
