MANILA - &quot;Drug War&quot; Director Shugo Praico explained that the upcoming series on the country’s drug war is not meant to tackle legal questions but to shed light on the human experiences of those who lived through it.“Yung usaping legal ay ‘di ko masasagot dahil hindi yun yung concern nung series. Ang gustong ipahayag nung series ay ikwento yung mga characters na nandito at nakapaloob… yung mga pinagdaanan nila nung panahon na iyon. The loss na naramdaman nila,” Praico said in an interview after its special screening at a mall in Taguig, Saturday afternoon.He said the series aims to give voice to the pain and struggles endured during that period, stressing its importance for Filipinos to hear. “And we think, pakiramdam namin na mahalaga na marinig iyon ng kapwa nating Pilipino. Dahil yun na nga, sa kwento natin ay kritikal na panahon bilang bayan, bilang tao itong panahon na ito,” he added. Praico invited audiences to watch the series, saying it will help open perspectives by presenting different sides of the story. “Inaanyayahan namin kahit sino, kahit saang panig… na silipin yung series na ‘to. Naniniwala kami na sa pamamagitan ng series na ito ay maririnig ang perspektibo ng bawat panig. Makikita natin… mabubuksan yung mga mata natin sa pananaw nung bawat isa. Wala [kaming] pinapanigan, pero ang plano namin ay mapakinggan. Yun lang ay sapat na,” he said. The series is produced by Rein Entertainment and KC Global Media. Part of the cast are Harvey Bautista, Jane Oineza, John Arcilla, Lotlot de Leon, Romnick Sarmenta, Yayo Aguila, Joem Bascon, Ryan Eigenmann, and Gabby Padilla.
