Top three reasons 'Project Baby' is worth catching on the big screen

<p>Regal Entertainment returns to the rom-com genre with their latest film <em>Project Baby</em>. Contrary to the usual mainstream expectations of romantic films, Project Baby also puts a much-needed spotlight on issues that are both entertaining and thought-provoking. Here are our top three reasons why we think it’s worth the effort to catch this film on the big screen. </p><div><br/></div><div><strong>1. It’s not your average romance.</strong></div><p>Unlike the usual boy-meets-girl, fall-in-love, then-out-of-love trope,<em> Project Baby</em> starts right off the bat with an unusual premise.</p><div><br/></div><p>Sue Ramirez’s character Sandy is a highly successful and independent woman who is confident in her mission to have a baby with a man without needing to be in a relationship. The lead stars are a refreshing new pair to watch onscreen</strong></div><p>In their first ever project together onscreen, Rico Blanco and Sue Ramirez seem like an unlikely pair but manage to pull off the chemistry as the story goes along, with major credit going to director Eric Quizon&#x27;s signature style of creating warm, and likable characters in his films.</p><div><br/></div><p>In <em>Project Baby</em>, Sue’s highly outspoken and sometimes stubborn character Sandy is almost always tempered with Rico’s role as the chill and understanding artist Migo. Rico Blanco is the new kind of leading man we didn’t know we needed</strong></div><p>Although he is far from being new to acting, having made his major acting debut in the 2010 ABS-CBN fantaserye series <em>Imortal</em> where he starred along with Angel Locsin and John Lloyd Cruz, and in film in the 2025 Metro Manila Film Festival entry <em>Manila’s Finest</em>, Rico marks another acting milestone in <em>Project Baby</em> as he portrays his first leading man role. </p><p>Rico’s acting does not have him trying too hard to be funny or likable.
