Jin of BTS shares inspiration behind debut solo album ‘Happy’

<p><em></em>BTS member Jin shared the inspiration behind the title of his first debut album<em> Happy.</em></p><p>&quot;Happiness is a very important word and holds value for me,&quot; he said in an interview on <em>The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon</em>. &quot;Simply because it is so important to me, I wanted to express happiness through music. Whereas for this album, it includes my opinion only, so it feels more personal to me.&quot;</p><p><em>Happy</em> contains numerous rock songs. On his musical influences when it comes to rock music, Jin said that he looks up to Coldplay.</p><p>&quot;I really love Coldplay. I had a chance to work with Coldplay before. A few years ago, before this album, Chris Martin gave me a song he wrote. I jokingly asked him, &#x27;Can I have this guitar?&quot; Chris Martin was like, &#x27;Of course!&#x27; I was so happy. Now it&#x27;s my family heirloom.&quot;</p><p>Jin completed his mandatory military service back in June.</p><p>The singer then engaged in various activities after being discharged from the military including doing a meet and greet with the fans at the BTS FESTA on June 13 at the Jamsil Sports Complex in Seoul to mark the debut anniversary of BTS.</p><p>The BTS member also became a torchbearer for South Korea at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris in July.</p>
