OPM band InnerVoices wants music, artistry to be remembered by  listeners

<p>InnerVoices expressed how they wanted to be remembered through their music, as a band that brings relatable songs to the local music scene.</p><div> </div><p>During their contract signing under UMG Philippines, the band shared what they looked forward to doing, now that they have a partner and new platform to share their music with a wider range of audience.</p><div> </div><p>“We are looking forward to, katulad ng ibang OPM artists, we are looking forward to hit songs and to continue doing more. Marami pa kaming wino-work out na songs. Hindi kami titigil na hindi kami nagkakaroon ng hit song,” vocalist Patrick Marcelino told PUSH ABS-CBN.</p><div> </div><div><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/176216088680520251021_073144619_iOS.jpg" class="fr-fic fr-dib"/></div><div><strong> </strong></div><p>“Maybe not too late for us, as you can see. We are gonna continue doing more OPM songs,” he added.</p><div> </div><p>Founder and pianist Atty. Rey Bergado added that this partnership marks a new beginning for the band, which had long been known for their live performances.</p><div> </div><p>“Matagal na rin kami sa live scene. We always play sa mga bars. We wanted to make a difference this time,  na magconcentrate kami sa original songs. We do have original songs, so this is the fourth iteration of the band. This year, we decided to put more original songs on the table and luckily, we have UMG to help us and accept us - a big platform for us,” he told PUSH ABS-CBN.</p><div> </div><p>“Moving forward we wish to promote the three songs you heard a while ago and come up with some new songs early after Christmas, around January or February 2026,” he continued.</p><div> </div><p>As music continues to evolve, InnerVoices shared how they have also adjusted their sound to appeal to today’s audiences, especially the new generation of music lovers. </p><div><br/></div><p>“Yung mga kanta ngayon, sabi nga, is the year of the Gen Zs, so doon kami nagadjust. Itong three songs na nilabas namin, medyo kakaiba sa three songs na nirelease namin,” Attorney Rey explained.</p><div> </div><div><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/176216091086220251021_070929444_iOS.jpg" class="fr-fic fr-dib"/></div><div> </div><p>The band also adapted to internal and personal changes, from new members to balancing music with their day jobs.</p><div> </div><p>“Also, yung member changes — like si Patrick is relatively new to us. Yung mga adjustments din namin sa day jobs namin. We have to double our effort kasi we wake up in the morning for a regular job and do gigs at night, so mahirap din pagsabayin,” he remarked.</p><div> </div><p>Despite the challenges, the band remains optimistic. They are eager to explore modern sounds and technology while staying true to their artistic roots.</p><div> </div><p>“Like what Attorney said a while ago, we also have some tools and are investing in high-end  gadgets also. And it is also mixed with the passion and our imagination also na sinusulat ni Mr Bob Mitra, our arranger and music director, and mga obra na ginagawa ni Attorney Rey. Sabi nga ni Patrick, some of the songs are personal to us or based from personal experiences. We wish to be remembered for the original songs that we released. We wish na maalala kami ng mga tao, years from now, na there was a band called InnerVoices that existed in the local scene,” said Attorney Rey. </p><div> </div><p>“Hindi na kami nangangarap na sumikat na sumikat. We just want to stay, and our songs to stay, in the minds and hearts of our fans and listeners,” he continued.</p><div> </div><p>InnerVoices is a 90’s band composed of founder and pianist Atty.
