EXCLUSIVE: OPM band LILY embraces new musical era with emotional single ‘OSA’ inspired by late pet dog

<p>OPM band LILY turns personal heartbreak into music with their newest emotional single “OSA,” a track dedicated to bassist Aaron Paul Ricafrente‘s beloved pet dog who passed away earlier this year.</p><p>Aaron revealed that the song was inspired by his longtime dog Blunt, describing the loss as one of the most emotional experiences of his life, especially after welcoming his child on the same day.</p><p>“Losing my dog—my best friend for years, the one who saw me through the hardest  times—and then welcoming my new daughter, all on the same day? It was a gut punch and a blessing, all at once. That love is what &#x27;OSA&#x27; is about. It&#x27;s not just a sad song about grief; it&#x27;s about believing that love is so strong, it can whisper from heaven and tell you, &#x27;Hey, Dad, I&#x27;m still watching over you. Don&#x27;t worry.&#x27; It&#x27;s the most raw and honest thing I’ve ever put down on paper,” he expressed.</p><p>In a video shared on the band’s social media page, Aaron emotionally recalled how the events unfolded.</p><p>“Noong namatay si Blunt, mixed emotions talaga literal. Lahat ng sikreto ko, siya ‘yung nakakalaam, siya ‘yung kasama ko parati. Siya ‘yung pinakababy ko. Sobrang puyat puyat ako na pinanganak ‘yung baby namin tapos nawala pa si Blunt. Ang sabi nila, sinave niya ‘yung baby ko,” he said.</p><p>LILY has taken a different direction with “OSA,” experimenting with Western influences, country, and folk. Lead guitarist Alden Acosta shared how the song helped them explore different musical textures.</p><p>“We explored new games with this song ‘OSA’. We tried alternate tunings for the guitars comparing it to the songs we did in the past. For next year, we will be releasing more singles, and maybe we will be releasing a new album after from all the singles had been released,” he stated.</p><p>As for collaborations, the band expressed hopes of working with OPM acts such as Cup of Joe, Jayda, Dionela, and even international artists.</p><p>“With it comes to collaboration, I’ll give two categories: global and local. Sa local, I’d like to collaborate with Dionela or Jayda sa mga upcoming songs namin — if that’s possible.
