So I guess this is also a reason why I sing &#x27;popera&#x27; now. It is a privilege to be able to combine both worlds.” </p><p>In an interview with The Eurovision Site, JJ made a statement about recognizing one’s roots and self-trust.  </p><p>“Be proud of who you are and where you come from,” he said. No matter who you are, there’s always someone out there who will love you and you should really believe in yourself.”  </p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/entertainment/studios/music/2025/5/18/fil-austrian-jj-wins-eurovision-2025-with-opera-techno-fusion-1531"><strong>READ: Fil-Austrian JJ wins Eurovision 2025 with opera-techno fusion</strong></a></div><div> <strong></strong></div><div><strong>‘Love is Never Wasted’ </strong></div><p>The Filipino-Austrian musician clinched the title after gaining 436 points, capturing the hearts of national juries and viewers who voted for him.  </p><p>JJ booked his ticket to victory through his remarkable performance of his own operatic song &quot;Wasted Love,” where his impressive voice and diverse music background were beautifully combined.  </p><p>The Eurovision winner made a statement about love that deviates from the song’s title after he was proclaimed as the contest’s winner  </p><p>“Guys, love is never wasted. I’m still in disbelief but forever grateful,&quot; he captioned his post.</p><p>The Filipino-Austrian previously tried his luck at <em>The Voice UK</em> in 2020 but he was unsuccessful. He was mentored by the Black Eyed Peas&#x27; William James Adams or will.i.am.</p>
