In an exclusive interview with PUSH ABS-CBN, the band shared a teaser of what’s coming to mark the milestone.

“This month is our first year anniversary month. So, rest assured for all of the Junies and to all of our listeners out there that we have many, many things in store for you guys this month,” lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Renzo Compuesto said .

One of those is an upcoming new single, which the band says reveals a more personal side to their music.

“We have a new upcoming song,” Filipina-Bosnian keyboardist Michelle Fajkovic announced. “We have a song that's very akin to our previous releases. But in a way, it's very, I guess, personal.”

Letters From June recently took the stage at the 18th edition of Wish Date, a concert series by KDR Music House and Wish 107.5, held at the Mall of Asia Arena on June 1.

The six-piece band performed the theme song “Refrain” and offered heartfelt renditions of classic hits like Odette Quesada’s “Friend of Mine”, Phil Collins’ “You’ll Be in My Heart”, and Toto’s “I Won’t Hold You Back“. Other performers at the event included Lani Misalucha, Nyoy Volante, Mark Carpio, and Over October.

“Out of all the Wish Dates that we've been a part of, there's always this one thing in common. Sa lahat po ng Wish Date, there's always a moral lesson to learn. And this Wish Date po actually, sobrang bilis lang din ng pag-invite po sa amin. Kaya sobrang minimal time for preparation. Pero, we managed to pull through,” Renzo said.

“One thing that we learned from this Wish Date and from all of the Wish Dates that we've been part to is to always strive for what you believe in. Always do what you feel you're passionate about,” he stated. “It's always very heartfelt, and as artists, we want our craft to also be heartfelt. So, ayun po, there's really so much to learn that it's hard to put it in just one sentence.”

So, nung ibinigay sa amin ‘yung setlist, ‘yung unang reaction ko, unang reaction namin is parang, ‘I've never heard this song in my life‘. Paano natin gagawin ito? Isang week lang (to prepare),” electric guitarist Arvy Perez said.

“We pushed through. We persevered. Actually, we ended up liking some of the songs. Na-appreciate namin talaga ‘yung music in all generations. Which is what Wish Date is supposed to be diba? Na throughout the generations, we celebrate music. And we felt that,” he added.
