‘No Longer Pre-Debut’: WRIVE officially enters the P-pop scene

<p>Coming from different talent search shows and walks of life, the time has finally come for aspiring idols Drei, Ishiro, Russu, Asi, and Mathew as they officially debuted as the P-pop group WRIVE.</p><p>The group marked their official arrival by releasing their first two singles, “Ooh La La” and “Señorita”, and meeting with the press and their fans during their launch.</p><p>“Di po kami makapaniwala na mangyayari na siya ngayon, but at the same time sobrang may halong kaba pa rin pero excited pa rin,” Drei expressed.</p><div><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1752980244974Thumb (11).jpg" style="width:600px" class="fr-fic fr-dib"/></div><p>The five members were former contestants on ABS-CBN’s idol survival show <em>Dream Maker</em>. While they didn’t make it to the finale, the boys expressed gratitude for the opportunity to continue pursuing their dreams.</p><p>“Hindi po kami nanalo but the management gave us another chance and siguro nakita po nila yung potential and hunger namin na maging part ng P-Pop scene,” Ishiro said. “Throughout those 2 years, tuloy-tuloy po kami nagtrain. For many years, we were called a pre-debut group, but now we can proudly say that we’ve finally debuted,” he added.</p><p>Russu also expressed his gratitude: “Sobrang laking tulong po ng second chance sa amin, sobrang happy namin na nagkaroon kami nito. Yung experience namin from <em>Dream Maker</em> hanggang ngayon, sobrang nakahelp sa amin maging confident sa pagharap sa maraming tao and nagkabonding kami.”</p><p>Mathew then emphasized their unity and perseverance that was strengthened in the past years.</p><p>“Iisa lang goal namin from the start: na kahit anong mangyari, walang susuko. Kapit-kapit lang kami. Kumbaga through our music you can feel a lot of things, different things throughout what you hear. What makes us unique is really connected with our background and concept kasi we all came from different paths,” Ishiro remarked.</p><p>Russu added how they wanted their fans and listeners to relate and be inspired with their music.</p><p>“Gusto namin na kapag pinapakinggan nila yung music namin, na ma-feel nila na parang kinocomfort namin sila. Gusto namin makarelate sila sa amin and ma-inspire sila na kami yung tahanan nila habang nakikinig sa amin,” Russu answered <strong>PUSH ABS-CBN</strong>.</p><div><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1752980100474Thumb (9).jpg" style="width:600px" class="fr-fic fr-dib"/></div><p>Now officially debuting in the P-pop spotlight, the group acknowledged that although there is pressure that comes with the title, they choose to see it as a motivation.</p><p>“Every performance talaga and every day of our lives, we feel the pressure. But it&#x27;s a good kind of pressure, kasi may fire sa mga puso namin ngayon para galingan araw-araw. I’m happy na ‘yung pressure na iyon maganda ‘yung kinakalabasan kasi nagtatranslate into ‘yung ginagawa namin ‘yung best namin every time,” Ishiro said.</p><p>WRIVE’s tracks “Ooh La La” and “Señorita” are now available on various streaming platforms. </p>
