MANILA -- Recording artists Annrain, Bryan Chong, Drei Sugay, Enzo Almario, Janah Zaplan, JEL REY, Justin Mclaire, Kanishia Santos, and Misha De Leon inked contracts with ABS-CBN&#x27;s record label StarPop on Tuesday, August 5.Annrain was the first to sign a new contract with StarPop. According to ABS-CBN Music executive Jonathan Manalo, Annrain, an &quot;Idol Philippines&quot; season 2 finalist, is &quot;the next Pinoy Diva that you should watch for.&quot; Drei Sugay was vibing as he signed new contract with StarPop. Sugay started his career when he joined the first season of &quot;The Voice Teens&quot; and became a part of Apl.de.Ap&#x27;s team in 2017. He later joined &quot;Idol Philippines&quot; season 2 where he became one of the top 12 contestants. Sugay also starred as Fonzi in PETA&#x27;s &quot;Tabing-Ilog: The Musical&quot; which held shows in 2023 and 2024. &quot;I just want to say thank you so much to everyone, StarPop and everyone here. To our families who came here to support us. Very young &#x27;yung vibe ni Misha. Soon she will be featured in a major OST and she&#x27;s also recording a new EP,&quot; Manalo said.“Idol Philippines” season 2 fourth runner-up Bryan Chong also inked a new contract. Last year, he dropped a remake of Himig 11th Edition’s Best Song “Marupok.” He has also released several singles such as “Mag-iisa,” “Di Pa Ba Sapat,” and “Cut Into Pieces.” &quot;Soon maririnig niyo ang kanyang singer-composer era because he has written a lot of beautiful songs na talagang unraveling of emotions na sobrang magiging relatable,&quot; Manalo said.Multi-talented artist Enzo Almario also signed a deal with StarPop. Almario was part of “Tawag ng Tanghalan” season 3 and “Idol Philippines” season 1 before he became part of the singing trio iDolls. Just this year, he returned to the “TNT” stage as one of the resbakers of “All-Stars Grand Resbak” season 2. Last month, he reimagined OPM love songs in his debut EP &quot;Gunita.&quot;&quot;Super thankful ako sa StarPop for welcoming me again to their family. ... I am so excited to be part of the StarPop family at marami pa tayong adventures together,&quot; Almario said.Versatile vocalist Janah Zaplan was among the nine artists who signed contract on Tuesday. A singer-songwriter, Zaplan is also the Top New Artist of the Year at 2023 P-pop Awards. &quot;We are going to see Janah fly to an even greater heights with her music. She is currently recording songs for her upcoming EP. She is the next big pop star to watch out for. Maglalabas siya ng mga magagandang songs na fun and something na upbeat, really happy pop songs,&quot; Manalo said.&quot;Naiilang&quot; singer JEL REY also inked a contract on Tuesday. In 2023, the singer-songwriter dropped his debut EP “TERAPEWTIKA.” He also received a nomination for Best Performance by a New Solo Artist at the 37th Awit Awards. Early this year, JEL REY released his single &quot;Parapelikula,&quot; which he composed.&quot;Sobrang thankful ako na nandito ako ngayon. Noong nag-uumpisa ko pangarap ko lang na &#x27;yung kanta ko mapunta sa Spotify. Pero hindi ko akalain na may contract signing, sa TV ko lang nakikita ito, sa mga artista. Maraming salamat po ulit, sa nanay at tatay ko sa suporta na ibinibigay niyo sa akin palagi. Mahal na mahal ko kayo,&quot; JEL REY said.Young artist Justin Mclaire also sealed a deal with StarPop. Early this year, he released his self-titled mini album which featured songs he composed.  &quot;Si Justin another Gen A artist so talagang very young &#x27;yung vibe ng music niya. He&#x27;s also a singer-songwriter and an actor too. Pero with his looks inevitable na he would be acting sooner or later. Pero siya abangan niyo ang music ni Justin Mclaire, he&#x27;s going to record new songs sa upcoming singles and EP niya and most of it isinulat niya,&quot; Manalo said.Kanishia Santos was the last artist who signed a contract with StarPop yesterday. Santos returned to music scene after taking a break. In 2022, Santos released her debut extended play &quot;Born To Cry.&quot;&quot;Abangan niyo &#x27;yung new project ni Kanishia kasi hindi na siya sad girl. Last album niya was called &#x27;Born To Cry,&#x27; but right now we are recording songs na nasa mas pop genre, mga upbeat songs. So abangan niyo ang pop girl era ni Kanishia will be releasing soon under StarPop,&quot; Manalo said.
