<p>Singer and songwriter Janine Berdin isn’t slowing down anytime soon as she revealed her plans to release new music this year. A lot of plans–– this is just [the] first of many things we want to do this year. I’m so grateful to Universal [and] to Island Records because I really get to focus on music and be my own artist. It’s crazy that I get this opportunity and I’m just really, really grateful,” Janine revealed.</p><p>Speaking exclusively with <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/entertainment/showbiz"><strong>PUSH ABS-CBN</strong></a><em></em>, the former Tawag ng Tanghalan champion stressed the importance of creative freedom in songwriting, adding that authenticity is a big factor for artists like her.</p><p>“I think it’s very important because I don’t think you can connect with people if you’re not honest with your work. I think people and the audience can definitely tell kung hindi ka totoo and if what you’re doing isn’t true to yourself –– they can clock that really quick,” she expressed.</p><p>“Being free when making your art is very, very important, and being authentic is very important,” she continued. </p><p>Without revealing too much, Janine assured her fans who have been waiting for new music that something is brewing this year. I’m so proud of OPM where it’s at right now,” she maintained. </p><p>Janine’s latest single, &quot;Palag Na ‘To,&quot; is set to be released this May 17 on all music streaming platforms. </p>
