He may appear astig or tough, but Daniel Padilla is actually a softie, especially when it comes to his beloved family. Even though we don’t get to see their bonding moments often, as they keep their personal lives low-key in spite of their status, the photos in this gallery can provide us glimpses of the awesome and endearing bond of their close-knit family. As his mom, actress Karla Estrada, had to raise him and his siblings JC, Magui, and Carmella single-handedly after she called it quits with their respective dads, Daniel was compelled to grow up immediately, for he needed to take on the responsibilities of being a firstborn. From taking good care of his younger brother and sisters, he eventually found himself starting to work in his teenage years in order to help their mom in putting food on their table and providing for their needs.In his <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/entertainment/studios/tv/magandangbuhay">“Magandang Buhay”</a> guesting in 2020, he recounted to the momshie-hosts some of the experiences he had to go through growing up as the katuwang, or partner, of Momshie Karla, not just in looking after his siblings and in doing some household chores, but also in bringing income to their household. It was also in that interview through which we got to know Daniel not only as a son but as a brother to his beloved siblings. While he seems to be strict and protective towards his siblings, he’s actually affectionate and thoughtful, based on the heartwarming and amusing anecdotes imparted by his little sisters Magui and Carmella about their beloved kuya.While some of us probably have our favorite sibling/s, Daniel denied playing favorites with his JC, Magui, and Carmella and instead took pride in their different personalities and characteristics. He’s proud that Magui is academically great, Carmella excels in sports and in getting along with other people, and JC has such an impressive musical gift.“Ako, personally, hindi naman ako perfect na kuya na talagang ako ang huwarang kuya. May mga pagkukulang din ako, hanggang ngayon pinagsisisihan ko na sayang hindi ko nagawa kasama sila. Pero I try my best na maging ‘andyan pa rin para sa kanila, syempre sa likod ng ating mga trabaho,” he remarked. Aside from his Mama Karla and his siblings, Daniel has also established strong and endearing bonds with his half-siblings from his father Rommel Padilla, and with the other members of his extended maternal family, which include Analain Salvador, Ashton Salvador, and Jordan Lim, who are all in showbiz as well.
