Gina Pareño played the role of Remedios/ Reming, an elderly woman who had to face a great turmoil when insanity struck her three children. Reming, a devoted mother of five, witnesses her eldest daughter, Violeta (Lotlot de Leon) suffer a breakdown and her youngest Judy (Sid Lucero) contract thyphoid fever, leading to erratic behaviors. Her eldest son Joel (Jhong Hilario) dreams of becoming a seaman and builds a makeshift jail to keep Judy safe but the latter eventually recovers. But two years later, Joel’s dreams were shattered and Judy got into a fight which resulted to the deterioration of their mental health.
