“PBB Collab 2.0” housemates succeed in first weekly task, address food wastage issue

<div><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1762047058427New Project (65).jpg" class="fr-fic fr-dib"/></div><p>One week into their stay inside Bahay ni Kuya, the bond and teamwork that the housemates of “<a href="http://pbb.abs-cbn.com"><strong><u>Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition 2.0</u></strong></a>” continue to develop and strengthen were immediately challenged not just by their first-ever weekly task but by the issues that arose one after the other over the past week.  </p><p>As if walking around the swimming pool while also holding the candelabra with candles, not to mention making sure that the flame on the candles wouldn’t get extinguished or the candles would remain upright, wasn’t challenging enough, Kuya further took the difficulty of the housemates’ “Candelabra de Horror” weekly task to the next level.  </p><div><iframe width="966" height="543" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/IJt7zi_KfQ8" title="Day 8: First weekly task, nadagdagan ng obstacle course! | PBB Collab 2.0" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen=""></iframe></div><p>He added an obstacle course, which required the housemates to pass through a set of tires, walk over a line of blocks, and protect the burning candles from the strong blow of a stand fan and the rain showers. </p><p>The initial housemates to take on the level-up challenge were Inigo Jose, Heath Jornales, Anton Vinzon, Fred Moser, and Joaquin Arce—and they succeeded in their first attempt. However, as they tried to drain the melted wax, one of the candles fell off, which resulted in Anton’s removal since it was under his watch. </p><p>It then started to rain, which made the task tougher for them because they needed to shield not just themselves from the raindrops but also the candles. However, in spite of their efforts, the flame of one of the candles at Rave Victoria’s portion got extinguished, which prompted Carmelle Collado to voluntarily bow out of the task. As another candle fell off, Lella Ford volunteered to be the one not to proceed with the task anymore. </p><div><iframe width="966" height="543" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/msReFM-J-Lg" title="Day 8: Housemates, nalagasan sa weekly task dahil sa ulan | PBB Collab 2.0" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen=""></iframe></div><p>With Big Brother telling the housemates that their weekly task would continue despite the downpour, the housemates thought of various strategies to complete each trip around the swimming pool without the flames getting put out. Unfortunately, nothing seemed to work as three more candles lost their flames. This prompted Eliza Borromeo, Heath Jornales, and Waynona Collings to bow out from the task. </p><p>When it was Joaquin, Caprice, Fred, Marco Masa, and Princess Aliyah who were in charge of the candelabra, the housemates lost six more candles, which made them and Krystal Mejes volunteer not to push through with the rest of the task anymore. Task leader Inigo related during his and Caprice’s conversation with Kuya inside the confession room that they already felt helpless during that time. </p><p>Since they couldn’t afford to lose the remaining candles, Inigo and Rave talked about the strategy they would carry out, with their housemates helping them out by finding any item that they could use as shields from the raindrops. Carmelle and Krystal then joined Rave in prayer as he and Inigo took on the final 10 rounds of the task. Unfortunately, the flame of one of the last two candles got extinguished, which led to Inigo withdrawing from the task since he firmly believed that Rave could finish the task on his own. </p><div><iframe width="966" height="543" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/yldYGOGYPyo" title="Day 8: Iñigo at Rave, natirang housemates sa weekly task | PBB Collab 2.0" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen=""></iframe></div><p>Being the last man standing for their task, Rave couldn’t help but be pressured and nervous. But those were kissed away by the cheers and words of encouragement that he got from his housemates as they warily watched him complete the remaining rounds. And they all burst into deafening hurrays and jumped for joy as soon as Kuya announced that their task was finally done and they succeeded! </p><div><iframe width="966" height="543" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/Byw2WYCaJoA" title="Day 8: Rave, ipinanalo ang unang weekly task! | PBB Collab 2.0" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen=""></iframe></div><p>To celebrate their victory in their first-ever weekly task, some of the housemates danced to “Kabataang Pinoy,” while the others dove into the pool. </p><p>“Alam kong sobrang proud ng mga housemates sa akin. Nag-pay off lahat ng sacrifices, ang saya ng lahat. Kuya, ‘yon ang hinahanap ko—‘yong mga sigawan, ‘yong mga ngiti sa mukha nila,” Rave happily told Big Brother inside the confession room. </p><p>Since winning the weekly task meant that they could max out their weekly budget, the housemates proceeded with their “grocery shopping.” But before they began, task leaders Caprice and Inigo gathered everyone in the living room and asked them one-by-one how they’d been feeling over the past week. </p><div><iframe width="966" height="543" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/ygL0BO00agc" title="Day 8: Housemates, pinag-usapan ang hatian sa pagkain | PBB Collab 2.0" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen=""></iframe></div><p>The first one to speak was Marco, who brought up the unequal distribution of food among them, which he and John Clifford had already talked about in the previous days. He mentioned to Big Brother one instance when he wasn’t able to get his share of food after coming to the dining table late, while Carmelle had more food on her plate yet didn’t finish it.  </p><p>Lee Victor seconded it, pointing out how he noticed that some of the housemates tend to have leftovers on their plates. This prompted Inigo to remind everyone to finish everything on their food since one of the many things that Kuya doesn’t want is wastage. Clifford also mentioned to Kuya the incident when Marco wasn’t able to get his share of food, only to notice that Carmelle didn’t consume the extra serving of their viand that she got.  </p><p>Anton then chimed in, telling everyone to learn how to sacrifice for each other and make do with what they have because it’s not certain if they will win the next tasks and will have a weekly budget. Carmelle, who was still oblivious that she was being ‘accused’ of wasting food by the other housemates, remarked that she was okay with the portions of food they were getting and relayed Krystal’s suggestion that they would probably need more viand. But since they have a budget for the coming week, Inigo happily announced that they wouldn’t have to deprive themselves of food. </p><div><iframe width="966" height="543" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/xekXjfFAT7s" title="Day 8: Carmelle, may reaksyon sa issue ng pagkain | PBB Collab 2.0" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen=""></iframe></div><p>While some of the housemates were busy with the “grocery shopping,” Carmelle and Krystal continued to talk about the issue regarding food wastage, as the former sensed that it was whom they were referring to. Thus, Carmelle went on to ask around about their opinions regarding the issue, as well as speak with Sofia Pablo and Anton, who are in charge of cooking and proportioning their meals, to give her suggestions on what could be done in order to prevent leftovers.  </p><p>In her conversation with Kuya inside the confession room, Carmelle ‘fessed up that there were indeed instances when she couldn’t finish the food given to them by Sofia and Anton.
