Kapamilya artists debunk the biggest myths about love

If no one has told you that love isn’t always sunshine and butterflies, or that it doesn’t always come easy, then you still have so much to uncover about what love really is. Luckily, some of our favorite Kapamilya artists are here to debunk the most common myths about love. Our walking &#x27;green flag&#x27; KD Estrada tackled the misconception that love has to be grand to be real. For him, love isn’t about over-the-top gestures or expensive surprises—it’s in the little things. It’s the small thoughtful acts, like buying a loved one medicine when they&#x27;re sick, that truly matter. Most especially, love doesn’t have to come with a hefty price tag. Anji Salvacion, on the other hand, isn’t a fan of the phrase “Mahal ko kasi mahal ko, eh”—as if love is just some magical, uncontrollable force. For her, love is about choosing that person every single day, no matter what. “You choose to love that person. You choose to be with that person despite their flaws, their mistakes, and even despite &#x27;pag niloko ka,” she explained. Love isn’t just about feelings; it’s about commitment. Chie Filomeno, who echoes Anji&#x27;s sentiment, emphasizes hat real love is about staying through the toughest moments, &quot;Especially sa hardest times na magsi-stick ka sa tao na &#x27;yun. Kung mahal mo &#x27;yung tao, you will choose to stay.”  The idea that love is all about feelings is a mystery to Jona. Because in reality, feelings alone aren’t enough. &quot;Hindi naman everyday masaya o puno ng tawa, but you can show your love by being committed to that person and choosing to love that person whatever circumstances na pagdadaanan n&#x27;yo,&quot; she explained.Edward Barber shares a similar perspective, emphasizing that love is never just about emotions, which he learned from his conversations with married couples.  There are days when people in a relationship feel frustrated with their partner or even ‘hate’ them at times. But what makes love real is choosing that person every day, even when it’s not easy. Edward said that love is a daily decision. Ken San Jose thinks one of the biggest misconceptions about love is that it’s measured by how much you do or give to someone. For him, love should be unconditional, something that doesn’t fade or depend on what a person can offer.In her previous relationship, Kolette Madelo wanted things to go her way and didn’t know how to adjust. But now she&#x27;s learned that relationships thrive on compromise.Having been in a relationship with Ronnie Alonte for almost a decade, Loisa Andalio has realized that love isn’t the fairytale most people believe it to be. “Walang gano&#x27;n,” she smiled, adding that everyone has their own unique story and journey in love.As Jeremy G puts it, love isn’t like what we see in the movies where it’s all about grand gestures. Instead, the sweetest moments come from simply enjoying each other’s presence, even in silence, “Na kahit wala kayong ginagawa, ramdam na ramdam n&#x27;yo ang isa&#x27;t isa.”At the end of the day, love isn’t always what we see in fairytales, as these Kapamilya stars pointed out. But that’s what makes real love even more meaningful.
