They might have come from different backgrounds and possess quite different personalities—with JB (Richard Gutierrez) being the charming, stern, and compassionate ex-navy and Max (Kaila Estrada) being the beautiful, geeky, and nonchalant cyber operations specialist—but the universe has its wondrous way of intertwining their paths by having them work together in the elite private military company led by “contractor," Col. Greg Paterno (Ian Veneracion). 

As we follow the “kontraks” in their deadly missions against crime syndicates in "Incognito," we also got to witness the brewing love story between Max and JB, which has already gained a lot of shippers! And in this edition of Kapamilya Update, let’s revisit their scenes together that didn’t just display their undeniable chemistry but also made us want them to be each other’s endgame. 

Those who have been watching "Incognito" ever since it premiered a month ago are surely aware that the main reason why Max has been always somber is due to the tragic death of her beloved fiancée, Sevi (Victor Silayan), who died during a military mission. Moving on from the loss has been very difficult for her; thus, we’re delighted to have JB constantly by her side, looking over her and accompanying her.

The first time that we got to see just the two of them together was when the kontraks went to Isla Azur to carry out their first-ever mission. Since they had to be low-key in order to successfully spy on the Escaleras, JB suggested that they act like ordinary tourists and did so by trying to strike a casual conversation with her. However, Max was apparently not keen on building personal relationships with her teammates yet at the time since they just met for the first time, so she shushed him.

He tried to ask her how she got into cyber operations, to which she sarcastically responded, “Na-realize ko kasi na mas gusto ko pang kaharap ‘yong laptop ko kaysa makipag-usap sa ibang tao.” Noticing that she’s not interested to talk to him, JB was compelled to leave and let her work all by herself. 

The two were also paired with each other when their group went to Cerdova for their second mission. While they were in the middle of hunting down their target, Timor Escalera(Art Acuña), Max received a call that got her really incensed. He was absolutely worried by her sudden outburst, so he immediately approached her and asked if she was alright. 

She didn’t get to respond to him as she already spotted Timor drinking booze on his own at an alfresco restaurant in broad daylight, so they went on with their mission. 

We also got to witness how concerned JB was towards the wounded Max as he gave him a subtle hug after they were able to accomplish their mission in Cerdova and topple down all the henchmen of the enemies. 

As they stayed at what seemed to be the abandoned rest house of his family, which they turned into their hideout, JB showed how gracious host and gentlemanly he is by preparing the cot and beddings he offered Max to comfortably sleep in. She thanked him, to which he tenderly retorted, “Max, magpahinga ka nang maayos, ha? We can’t afford to lose you.”

And lastly, as Max was sleeping, JB watched over her while also keeping on guard of their hideout. Fortunately, he was just a few meters away from her, so he was able to immediately wake her up while she was having a terrible nightmare. It was obviously so horrifying that she unintentionally held his hand and wailed while still asleep, much to JB’s surprise and concern.
