Like most moms, Elisse Joson’s perspective on life shifted when she had her daughter, Felize. Priorities changed, decision-making became more intentional, and even the little things—like how she approaches friendships, travel, and shopping—now come with a set of rules, which she reveled in the Kapamilya Chat &#x27;Elisse Rules&#x27; Challenge. First, she was asked about her rules on curfews, to which she revealed that she stopped setting one for herself for a while, but she eventually brought it back after realizing she needed to be more mindful of her time now that she’s a mom to a little girl. She doesn’t have a strict cut-off hour, but her main rule is that, as much as possible, she wants to be home while Felize is still awake.The same mindset applies to shopping. There was a phase when she allowed herself to fully enjoy the fruits of her hard work, but family life gave her a more mature perspective. Her golden rule now, specifically when it comes to credit card purchases, is, “If you can’t pay it back, don’t swipe it.” She learned this the hard way after realizing that small purchases, when added up, can turn into a big expense without her noticing.Motherhood also gave Elisse a more mature perspective on self-care—it’s no longer just about physical well-being but about holistic wellness, especially mental health. That’s why she’s started making a conscious effort to take social media breaks, giving herself time to reflect, strengthen her conversations with the Lord, and focus on journaling.When it comes to travel, she’s experienced both going all out with a strict itinerary and being totally spontaneous. She’s noticed that unplanned vacations tend to be a little chaotic, but they can work if you just want to relax on short one-day trips. Recently, though—like during her Japan escapade—she’s found a balance by planning ahead. She lists down the places she wants to explore so she won’t forget anything.And one travel tip she swears by, which is often overlooked, is to plan your OOTDs ahead since just deciding what to wear each day can take up so much time—especially for women. She’s also been enjoying curating her outfits lately and matching them with her daughter&#x27;s.When it comes to her inner circle, Elisse doesn’t have strict rules about choosing friends. She believes that the most important thing is simply clicking with someone. She said that connections are worth taking a shot at if you understand each other and vibe well even if you have different mindsets and priorities in life at the moment. Sometimes, even friendships with a big age gap can work. She also feels blessed to have a small but solid circle of friends.And lastly, when asked about her rule for her daughter, Elisse noted that she’s not overly strict, but she wants her child to enjoy life while always maintaining respect for others and, most importantly, for herself. Elisse describes her parenting style as a balance between strictness and lenience. &quot;In certain situations, she has to feel like I&#x27;m her mom.
