Since their teen years, Marvin Agustin and Jolina Magdangal have been immersed in the world of romance. From their iconic ‘90s romance-drama flicks (like “Hey Babe,” “Labs Kita… Okey Ka Lang?” and “Kung Ayaw Mo, Huwag Mo”) to kilig-filled television shows, they practically wrote the playbook on love and relationships.But now that they’re older, their views on love have, of course, become deeper and more refined—shaped by the real-life experiences they’ve gathered along the way. Surely, they&#x27;ve got plenty of love lessons coming our way in their reunion movie “Ex Ex Lovers.” But before that, they’ll be giving a masterclass in matters of the heart here in “How Tos of Love.” Saying sorry can be hard, but as they say, we&#x27;d rather lose the argument than lose the person important to us, right? When asked how to properly and effectively apologize, Jolina says her style is to start with some ‘lambing’ or sweetness, to which Marvin agrees. But he adds that you always have to say sorry right away, &quot;Kasi naniniwala ako na walang dapat manalo sa inyo individually. You being in a relationship, dapat panalo kayo pareho and you are always on the same side.&quot;And always remember, as Jolina says, there’s nothing wrong with being the first one to apologize. Marvin also believes that whoever can be the bigger person should apologize first to put an end to the tension.Surprises definitely bring that extra spark to relationships, and Jolina knows how to keep things exciting. What she usually does is ask her partner what they’d like to receive, but delivers it on an unexpected day or moment—because who doesn’t love a little spontaneity? Marvin can definitely vouch for this, saying Jolina is so thoughtful that she would always come up with something unexpected or a random gift every day. Meanwhile, as for him, Marvin says he’s not really into material surprises, but his kind of surprise is making time for that special person and creating lasting memories together.Feeling those butterflies in love is the easy part, but navigating the more challenging moments, like jealousy, is where things get real. When dealing with jealousy issues, Jolina is not the confrontational type. She stays quiet and only opens up once she’s found the strength to talk about it, but even then, she makes sure to keep it gentle. Marvin shares the same approach. He’s not one to make a big deal out of jealousy because, more often than not, it&#x27;s just a passing moment of immaturity. But like Jolina, he believes it’s still important to address the issue at the right time, &quot;Kasi minsan kahit maliit lang at mukhang walang kwenta, it&#x27;s always good to communicate with your partner.&quot;&quot;Ang isa na natutunan ko sa relationship, you have to learn how to fight together, so hindi lang magagandang oras kayo dapat okay... Dapat nag-usap na kayo kung paano kayo mag-away, para &#x27;pag nag-away kayo, hindi kayo sumasabog nang todo,&quot; he adds.
