Around two months since it concluded on Prime Video—where it started streaming in November 2024—the highly talked about ABS-CBN Studios drama series “<a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/entertainment/studios/tv/savinggrace" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Saving Grace</a>” is about to have its much-awaited television premiere this coming March 3 on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, A2Z, and TV5. The upcoming teleserye is based on the global hit Japanese series, “Mother,” which delves into motherhood and what it really means to become a mother while also shedding light on social issues like child abuse and domestic violence. Since it follows the journey of the titular character, Grace (Zia Grace), who is abused by her negligent mother, Sarah (Jennica Garcia), and is saved by her teacher, Anna (Julia Montes), ABS-CBN Studios quizzed its lead stars, “What is a mother to you?”Elisse Joson, who’s now already a mom herself to daughter Felize, said that a mother is someone who gives unconditional love that is both immeasurable and cannot be compensated. Jennica Garcia, who’s a single mom to her two daughters, said that her perspective on motherhood changed while doing “<a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/entertainment/studios/tv/savinggrace" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Saving Grace</a>.” According to her, she used to only think that a mother is someone who has the capability to provide unconditional love. But through her experience, she also came to realize that it doesn’t simply start and end in giving birth to your child, for it comes with a really great responsibility. “Na-realize ko that all mothers, regardless of how honored they are by their children, are imperfect. Walang perpekto, gustuhin man nila [pero] hindi pa rin talaga. Pero hindi nangangahulugan na gagamitin mo ‘yon as a reason para takbuhan ‘yong mga responsibilidad mo,” she remarked. Christian Bables imparted that a mother is someone who takes responsibility in ensuring that the kids will grow well and right.Drawing inspiration from his mom, Sam Milby defines being a mother as “a nurturer” and the “glue” that binds the family. Janice de Belen, a doting mom to five talented brood, considers mothers like her as the epitome of “love” itself, for they are innately caring and willing to sacrifice for their children. A proud Mama to four children, Sharon Cuneta also regards mothers’ love as “unconditional.” She said, “A mother is someone that nurtures, teaches (especially values), is accepting of you and supportive of you, and encourages you and just loves you all the time no matter what.”For Julia Montes, it’s hard to describe a mother through words because of how huge their impact is on each one of us. Yet she related, “Masasabi ko na napaka-special and ‘yong unconditional love and sacrifices na ibinibigay nila is hindi matatawaran. So, siguro kung one word lang talaga at kailangan kong i-describe, ‘God’s gift’ or ‘special.’ ‘Yon ang mga naiisip kong words na magde-describe sa isang ina.”How about you, Kapamilya?
