Andres (Daniel Padilla) and Tomas (Anthony Jennings) couldn’t be more different. One is serious and quiet, while the other is loud and goofy. That’s why it’s surprisingly adorable that these two were the first to get close in the Kontraks squad.Their chemistry is effortless. Even Andres, who’s usually mysterious and ‘maangas’, can’t help but let loose when Tomas throws in a random joke.Some viewers even have this theory that Tomas might be Andres’ missing brother because yes, the chemistry is that good. He tried to be funny, saying he feels like Andres took after him since they both seemed fearless. Typical Tomas, he couldn’t stop talking. He went on about how excited he was for his first mission as a Kontrak, even joked that while he isn’t ex-military like the others, he’s still brave and naturally good. Then he asked Andres if he had any tips. Andres, being his usual serious and unbothered self, just said, “Huwag kang maingay. Huwag kang makulit. Masyado kang bata para mamatay.” Tomas clearly didn’t see that coming. A little stunned, he let out a small laugh and replied, “Ayos ’yun. Quotable,” to cover up the burn.But as the story moved along, Andres slowly started getting used to Tomas’ nonstop energy. Somehow, Tomas is the only one who could make him smile, or at least break character for a second.There was a scene where Andres was confined in the hospital, and Tomas came to visit with Max (Kaila Estrada) and Gab (Maris Racal). Max, being strict, told Andres to get some proper rest and grabbed his phone so he wouldn’t be distracted. That’s when Tomas jumped in, saying their mom was mad, referring to Max. You could tell Andres’ angas armor totally cracked with that hirit.Their bonding felt so natural when Tomas welcomed Andres back to the team, after they all thought Andres wouldn’t be signing up for the next contract. Tomas tried to lighten the mood with a string of hilarious impressions, mimicking the signature moves of their teammates. He said that if Andres really left, he’d definitely miss JB’s (Richard Gutierrez) serious and dramatic sighs, Greg’s (Ian Veneracion) commands and his late entrance to the war zones, Miguel’s (Baron Geisler) constant sniffing, Max’s “octopus bangs,” and Gab’s curly hair. The best part was when Andres totally lost it as Tomas called his own hairstyle &quot;mulot&quot;—a mash-up of mullet and kulot.In another scene, the team was discussing their target, a Japanese assassin named Kenji (Lance Pimentel), when Tomas randomly said, “Mananagot siya sa batas dahil iuuwi natin siya sa Pinas nang ligtas.” He was so proud of his spontaneous “bars” (lyrics of rap songs) that he fist-bumped Andres, who couldn’t stop laughing. The others tried to stay serious, but you could see them holding back their smiles.The final scene in the video montage was both funny and surprisingly touching. After learning about Andres’ quest to find his missing brother, Tomas called him a “tarsier”—as in endangered species—because guys like him are so rare these days. He even asked for a hug, and Andres’ reaction was priceless.These two might come from opposite ends of the personality spectrum, but they just get each other.
