That&#x27;s how Julia Montes, Elisse Joson, and Jennica Garcia see it, being daughters to strong and independent single mothers. After all, if a special ability could lift even a fraction of the weight they carry every day, wouldn’t they deserve that kind of magic?In the spirit of Mother’s Day 2025, Julia, Elisse, and Jennica share what kind of superpower they’d give their moms if they had the chance.Moms really do it all. They care for their children and hustle at work, and still show up with love to spare. It’s like they have this built-in multitasking mode that never switches off. If they could be in two places at once, they totally would. That’s exactly the kind of special ability Elisse would give her mom, Christine Joson, who raised her solo while juggling a demanding career as an anesthesiologist. “I’d want her to have [the superpower] na puwede siyang mag-multiply, so she could be a lot all at once,” Elisse says. With the kind of life her mom lived—saving lives at work and being a hands-on parent at home—Elisse knows just how much her mom had to stretch herself thin. So, this kind of superhuman gift would definitely help. Jennica also grew up witnessing the kind of double duty her mom, Jean Garcia, pulled every single day as a single parent and an actress. Jennica certainly saw the financial stress that came with it. That’s why when asked what superpower she’d give her mom, she exclaimed, &quot;Unlimited money!&quot; For Julia, her mom Gemma Hautea’s journey came with even more challenges. Being deaf and mute in a world that often lacks compassion made everything twice as hard, but that never stopped her from being the strong, nurturing mother Julia needed.That’s why, for Julia, her mom doesn’t need any magical powers because what she’s already done is nothing short of extraordinary. “Sa situation niya na deaf and mute, iba ang mundo niya at iba ang paraan ng sitwasyon namin towards each other,” Julia reflects. “So, na-a-amaze ako kung paano niya ako pinalaki kasi mahirap maging deaf and mute dito sa magulong mundo.”At the end of the day, with superpowers or not, moms already possess the greatest strength of all, which is unwavering love.
