Vice Ganda has been, without a doubt, one of the most prominent and most influential public figures in the Philippines over the past several years. Starting out as a stand-up comedian who used to perform usually in comedy bars, she later on found her way into the mainstream media, through which she is not only able to showcase and hone her comedic flair and other talents, but she has also skyrocketed to immense stardom. And many people, especially those who belong to the LGBTQIA+ community, have found it truly inspiring. Thus, for sure, she’s able to make one of the most important people in her life happy and proud of all her achievements—none other than her beloved mother, Nanay Rosario. Although she’s not a celebrity like her child, she has still made it to the consciousness of the madlang people through her appearances in a few Kapamilya shows over the past years. With Mother’s Day fast approaching, we’ve revisited some of the heartwarming, hilarious, and endearing guestings of the Unkabogable Star with her beloved “Unkabogable Mom” Nanay Rosario, in some ABS-CBN Studios TV shows through the years in this episode of Kapamilya Toplist. Since they’ve been working together for over 15 years now, the “<a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/entertainment/studios/tv/itsshowtime" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">It’s Showtime</a>” hosts have indeed already considered one another as family. Thus, Nanay Rosario’s motherly affection has also extended to Vice’s co-hosts, as attested by her effort to come to the studio so she could watch the birthday production number of Vhong Navarro live. This prompted Vice to jokingly express her ‘resentment’ against Nanay Rosario since she was absent from her previous birthday performances.Vice didn’t let her mom’s appearance on the show that day simply end without poking fun at her by including her in her punchline, which she usually does regardless if Nanay Rosario is around or not. Nanay Rosario just laughed it off along with everyone in the studio.Aside from the noontime program, Nanay Rosario also appeared in “<a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/entertainment/studios/tv/magandangbuhay" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Magandang Buhay</a>” as one of the surprise guests of Vice. Their last guesting together was in 2023, with the Unkabogable Star’s older sister Marivic and her niece Camille accompanying Nanay Rosario.  The momshie hosts had Vice talk about fulfilling Nanay Rosario’s greatest wish from her, which is to spend quality time with them. Despite her busy schedule, Vice said that she’s able to provide it for them by traveling with them since it’s the only opportunity for her to bond, roam around, and dine with them. Even though their bonding moments often get bitin or are very limited due to her strings of work commitments, yet Nanay Rosario and Marivic are still glad that they’re able to still spend time with Vice. The jolly woman related, “Pero ang maganda naman nito, kahit gaano ka-busy ang aking anak, he always makes time for all of us. Kaya kapag mahaba ang bakasyon ng Showtime, nag-iibang bansa kami na buong pamilya para masolo naman namin siya ng mga ilang araw.”The Unkabogable Star then turned emotional as she talked about how she has actually learned to appreciate Nanay Rosario’s pangungulit and little dramas because those have helped her realize her value as a person. With everything that has been happening in the world, she truly finds it delightful to know that someone yearns to see, hear, and speak to her everyday by any means. Thus, Vice imparted that she never missed doing their nightly ritual of checking on and saying “Good night” to each other via video call before going to sleep, which she truly loves.As Vice celebrated her birthday on her defunct comedy talk show “Gandang Gabi Vice” in 2019, Nanay Rosario made sure that she was present not only to celebrate the special day of her bunso but to also personally give Vice her heartwarming message by reading the letter that she wrote for her.“Ninakaw man ng mga panahon at mga pagkakataon ang mga oras para sa atin, hindi na ako malulungkot dahil nakikita ko kung gaano karami ang nagmamahal sa’yo. Sa dami ng mga taong napasaya mo, mga taong nabigyan mo ng pag-asa sa kanilang pinagdadaanan sa buhay. Your achievements, anak, ay sapat na para ako’y maging masaya and very thankful sa laki ng mga blessings mo. Anak, you are my pride, my joy, and my life,” Nana Rosario read.And lastly, while Vice was able to contain her emotions as she spoke to the picture of her late father, Reynaldo Viceral, during the “Tanong Mo, Mukha Mo” segment of the anniversary special of “GGV” in 2018, she wasn’t able to keep herself from turning emotional and eventually breaking down when her younger self—affectionately called by her family “Tutuy”—was tackled. When asked by guest host Boy Abunda how much of “Tutuy” is still in her, the Unkabogable Star said that he would forever be Tutuy and that would never change.“Because Tutuy is my Nanay’s happiness, kaya hindi pwedeng mawala si Tutuy. Pwedeng mawala si Vice Ganda pero hindi pwede si Tutuy because Tutuy is my Nanay’s love, Tutuy is my Nanay’s source of joy,” she stated. She went on to remark that she would always go back to Tutuy and that she would always choose him over Vice in a heartbeat.She expounded, “Kaya ayoko pang mawala si Tutuy kasi hindi pwedeng mawala ‘yong kasiyahan ng Nanay ko because that’s the most important thing in this world.
