Besides, he&#x27;s already performed in different countries but his ultimate goal was to bring his skill to what he described as the grandest stage in the Philippines. Carl also shared that he’s dedicating his “PGT” journey to his father, who passed away during the pandemic. </p><div><iframe width="959" height="543" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/RIMU1d7_ns4" title="Carl Quion’s Journey to Semi-Finals | Pilipinas Got Talent 2025" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen=""></iframe></div><p>The magician from Pampanga began his audition in front of Power Judges Freddie &quot;FMG&quot; Garcia, Eugene Domingo, Kathryn Bernardo, and Donny Pangilinan by explaining how magic is like a movie that has a beginning, a middle, and an end. “<em>Sa bawat eksena, dapat may sorpresa</em>,” he said, before laying out his collection of cards (each deck still boxed), asking each judge to pick one and label them with numbers. Then he placed all four decks inside a black box and mixed them up thoroughly before letting the judges each retrieve one unopened deck at random.</p><p>Carl began the next part by asking FMG to think of any card in an entire deck, while Kathryn was told to write down her favorite card on paper; with Eugene, he brought out an “<em>invisible</em>” deck and had her pick one. Donny was then instructed to scroll through his contacts and call someone he was sure would answer, and he chose to call his sister, Hannah, who, when asked to pick a card, went with the seven of clubs.</p><p>Carl then turned everyone’s attention back to the four unopened decks, saying that in each one, there was only a single card facing down. FMG’s deck revealed the nine of clubs, which was exactly what he had silently thought of. Kathryn’s was the nine of diamonds, matching what she wrote. Eugene pulled out her card and said it was the queen of hearts, the very card facing down in her deck. Donny’s box revealed the seven of clubs, exactly his sister’s choice from the phone call.</p><p>To prove that there were no switches, Carl even opened a few more decks to show they were empty. And for the final twist, he brought out an envelope that he said he had written on before his act started. Inside was a sheet of paper containing his prediction of the cards the judges would pick, which were all correct. And at the bottom was a note that read: “<em>Thank you, Hannah</em>.” Carl earned four “<em>yes</em>” votes from the judges after his impressive presentation. He said he wanted to turn back time. He opened his performance with a spiel about time, before handing Donny a full deck of cards, all facing up, and asking him to choose one, sign it, and place it back into the deck facing down, making it the only card in reverse among the rest. Carl said he would guess the exact card without even looking, but he stopped in the middle and explained he had shuffled the cards out of order. He even asked the “PGT” production staff if they were already on air, hoping to restart his performance. So instead of forcing the trick, he moved on to the next part where he brought out a pocket watch and asked Judge Eugene her favorite time of the day, to which she answered 7AM. Carl then quickly held up the watch and revealed that its hands were already pointing to exactly 7:00.</p><p>He then turned to Kathryn and introduced a set of “<em>core memory</em>” cards, flipping through them one by one and asking her to say “<em>stop</em>” whenever she felt ready. The card she stopped at read, &quot;<em>Unang nag-alaga ako ng puppy tapos nalilito ako kung anong pangalan ang ibibigay ko sa kaniya.</em>&quot; Carl asked her to close her eyes and think of the name she would’ve given the puppy, and she said, &quot;<em>Tungsten</em>.&quot; From there, Carl reached into the inside pocket of his jacket and pulled out a photo of a young Kathryn holding a puppy.</p><p>But the surprise didn’t end there. He pointed to a small box suspended from a pole on stage, prompting a crew member to bring in a ladder, which he climbed to retrieve the box. And to everyone&#x27;s astonishment, inside was a live puppy. He carefully handed the puppy to Kathryn, who cradled it in her arms, and when she looked closely at the tag around the puppy’s neck, the name written on it was similar to the name she had just said.</p><p>For the next part of the act, he handed Judge FMG a wristwatch, asking him to twist the small dial on the side and stop at any moment he liked. After FMG turned it a few times, Carl revealed the time landed on 4:00. Carl said that right after his audition three months ago, he had already prepared a video prediction for this exact moment. The LED screen on stage then played a video of Carl saying he has a guess for the exact time FMG would pick. The camera zoomed out to reveal that he was standing atop the Manila Clock Tower Museum, its hands clearly showing 4:00.</p><p>To close the act, Carl said he wanted to try one last thing, something he called “<em>manipulating time</em>.” He pulled out his mobile phone and showed the current time, 8:22 PM, then asked Judge Eugene how long she thought the performance had lasted, to which she guessed five minutes. Carl smiled, saying he wants to give those five minutes back to the audience. He asked everyone in the studio to check their phones, sure enough, the time had jumped back to 8:18 PM.</p><p>Carl circled back to his mistake at the beginning when Donny’s signed card had been lost in the shuffle. If they had truly gone back five minutes in time, then the deck should have reset too. So he brought it out once again, and said that the deck was back to how it was five minutes ago, slowly fanned through the cards, and revealed that only one was facing down.
