She tearfully confronted him, but instead of showing resentment and apologizing to Grace, he mustered an evil laugh and went on to mock her for allegedly reporting to her teacher that he and her mother, Sarah (Jennica Garcia) had been abusing her. Just when Grace assumed that her Mama would be by her side for that matter, the inebriated Sarah ruthlessly beat her up instead. Surely, eyes were filled with tears and hearts were pierced in that emotional moment between Grace and Anna Sarmiento (Julia Montes), wherein the poor little girl couldn’t stop herself from sobbing as she bade farewell to her teacher-slash-heroine, who already had to leave that time to go abroad. Since Anna was hesitant to leave her in that state, Grace kept on reassuring her in between sniffles that she would be fine by brandishing a thumb up as she repeatedly uttered, “Pasitib!” (or Tagalized version of “positive”). Our hearts were then warmed afterwards as we watched her walk along the pier while happily singing “Ang Mga Ibon Na Lumilipad.”As Sam Milby’s character, Julius Hernandez, was able to finally discover their hideout, he tried to persuade Anna to surrender to the authorities, who had been on the lookout for her due to the kidnapping charges filed against her. Since she was firm in not heeding his advice, Julius had found himself torn between reporting her to the police or helping them escape. But hearing Grace’s harrowing story on why she decided to come with her and why she wouldn’t let Anna be imprisoned because of her apparently helped Julius make up his mind. After running away and hiding from her for quite some time, Grace unexpectedly came face-to-face again with her real mother, Sarah. But instead of coming with her, the brave little girl stood her ground and reminded her of the reasons why she would never go back to her again. Grace even told Sarah that even though she didn’t harbor anger against her, she no longer loved and considered her as her Mama since she’s now just “Aling Sarah” for her, which, of course, enraged the latter.And lastly, Grace couldn’t help herself from crying during one of her conversations with Anna, as she recounted to her how much it hurt and saddened her that it was not she who could make her Mama Sarah happy.
